I'm in Auckland although maybe now we're not talking about the same (originally posted) issue?

Both could be related but could also be 2 separate issues. It is quite early to tell.

Update - We have costed in an additional 30 gig into the network in Auckland, some tuning of kit in Wellington is being performed while we continue to investigate and troubleshoot the issue/s with our upstream provider. A few PC test units will arrive to customers today (out with couriers for delivery) so that we can see performance from the customer end which will be really helpful for troubleshooting and discussions with our providers.

Nick.

Thanks for the update Nick.

Do we have an ETA yet on the new Aus / US SpeedTest servers?

Update - We have made some LAG changes this morning between WLG nodes as we continue to troubleshoot via normal channels. We have had a week of chasing Speedtest with respect to the changes needed by them to bring new SYD/LA speedtest servers online/available (Our part is done). We also now have some test kit in place at customer sites to capture and see what's going on from a customer perspective which will really help us narrow down any troubleshooting need by us or our upstream providers.

Our 2Degrees fibre install went live this morning here in West Auckland.  Here are speed tests for ethernet versus wifi.

This discussion was useful because initially were were getting sluggish down and super fast up speeds. Rang 2Degrees and they sorted it in their system immediately.  I may never leave home again.

Update - Testing so far has pointed towards specific routers not being able to handle throughput, and we have added some capacity/tuning as previously stated. If you are experiencing issues with performance, please make sure you log a support ticket with our customer care so we can investigate accordingly.

Hmm, I'm seeing some slight improvement in International upload speeds, but they're topping out at around 40mbits vs the 5-600mbit download speeds.

I'll log a support ticket.

Update on new SpeedTest Servers in LA/SYD - We finally had a request from Speedtest requesting proof of kit being located in those locations as we are advertising NZ IP addresses out of there. This has been done, so hopefully this will be resolved soon.

@SamF If it makes you feel any better your poor speeds are still better than mine :p Even when testing to 2degrees Auckland I very rarely get over 300Mbps on the upload, and I've never ever got the 506Mbps you're seeing there.

Fingers crossed these new speedtest servers will give 2degrees some valuable information :) I have every confidence they'll get this sorted based on previous positive interactions.

EDIT: I wonder if they are still being optimised. Speedtests to a different server in Sydney are maxing out my connection (and also even better than to the 2degrees server in Auckland)

Hiya,

Yeah there's some funky-ness going on with the new speedtest servers,,we are investigating / checking / confirming to work with Speedtest to resolve. Another testing platform (which are on the same boxes) is via www.nperf.com. This measures speeds in a different way to speedtest. We've seen interesting results depending on whether you are using IE/FF/Chrome etc.

Almost there....

Nick.

Strangely I can't get nperf to work at all. In Chrome, IE & Edge all I'm getting is "Loading nPerf plugin...". I've manually allowed flash, java enabled, turned off ABP so not sure whats happening.
