Hi have issues with trying to get my iPhone blocked because my insurance wants it blocked due to being a bio hazard (toilet visit) .

It was last used yesterday. I have taken my sim out to use in a old phone yet they say they cant block it because I have done this is this the case.

is there anyway round it?

What if someone pinched  it and took my sim out and started using it in there phone.

it seen odd to me but what do I know

You just call your carrier with the IMEI number and request for it to be black listed

Why not just destroy the phone?
Would seem reasonable to destroy it if it's a bio hazard....

Why not tell the insurance company to send a prepaid courier envelope for it? It's their property, it's not as if it was stolen and could potentially be used by someone else. If they want it blacklisted, they can do it.

How could you make an insurance claim on a phone you were not using?

Your SIM is not associated to your phone. So using the SIM does not affect the old phone.

If they do not understand this, ask them to contact a phone provider to verify.

ask again, that are literally wrong.

Or close your account, and move to a different insurance company that actually wants your business as a customer.

whoever you are talking to seems to be confused between a SIM/phone number and an IMEI (unique "serial" number) of your soiled handset
