I don't want to sound rude but why is it taking so long to fix ? I am just curious as to why orcon are having so many problems getting it working properly. The thing is when I first moved over to Orcn LLU it worked and then it got broken and hasn't worked since. So I assume your "fixes" fix it for some and break it for others. Is your equipment not compatible with Telecoms equipment or something? I just can't understand why it is taking so long to fix it and the lack of information aobut the problem.
I guess the main question is, when is it going to be fixed?
It doesn't have to conform to any Telecom standard only to the Bellcore CLID standard..
I haven't heard back from anyone at Orcon about the issue either and it has now been several days since leaving the latest messages about the problem. I have called them a couple of times but the people answering the phones never know what is going on and just give a standard answer they are still looking at the problem or that someone else will call you which never happens or they will escalate the problem. I guess they don't know either.
The new slingshot plans look pretty impressive, free offpeak data, better phone features and rollover data for each month.
I am going to keep an eye on the slingshot forums here and see how people go with them and then make a move to slingshot probably if they seem to be ok as I am sure quite a few orcon people will. Then I might get a working caller-id also plus my phone will actually register is has missed calls again..
I got a phone call from Orcon today to apologise for the length of time it has taken to reply to my email regarding caller-id.
They were unable to state when it would be fixed and said a number of people are still having problems but they are still working on it. They said it was because of new equipment and old copper lines...... doesn't really explain why with telecom i had no problems with caller id.. but anyway.. will wait and see, at least they called.

I been logging the call and according to what they have told me, my caller ID problem is on the tier-3 pirority list already. However they can't give me any update and they won't call me until they have find out what is the problem is.....
