Is anyone else having problems with italk today?  Checked out Slingshots website and they dont have anything listed faults wise.  Definately not getting a connection - I'd ring them but my italk doesnt work :p.

I trolled your question into the Slingshot fourms as it was interesting.
The admins there said to try ...

From Stuff this morning
--------------------------------

Internet  service provider Slingshot is in the firing-line from disgruntled customers after letting the domain name for their iTalk service expire, cutting off their phones.

The domain name expired on Wednesday, was cancelled at 9.45am yesterday and immediately went up for auction on www.expireddomains.co.nz. If a domain name is no longer registered, the system cannot recognise network members who use the service to make phone calls over the Internet.

Slingshot co-founder Malcolm Dick said it appeared a former staff member who registered the domain name had used his own personal e-mail address so the company had not received any notification that it was about to expire.

"We've re-registered the domain name, and are now checking the rest of our listings to rule out any more of this sort of idiocy."

He said there were between 7000 and 10,000 customers signed up to iTalk, but "only a handful" were affected. The helpdesk had received "five or six" complaints.

I did actually go and do a whois on their domain and saw it had expired so didnt think twice about it thinking it'll be working today most likely.  They fixed it last night sometime so its all good :).  Not like I want to be answering calls on a Sunday anyway (just had a couple of voicemails I needed to take care of).
