@Stacy88 The difference between 40 to 70ms would make next to zero difference and further to this how are you measuring this increase?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Stacy88:

Hi there,

My boyfriend and I have been getting high ping when gaming and was wondering if anyone else is getting high ping when gaming? My league ping has suddenly gone from 40 to around 70-80. Are there any weird routing issues with 2Degrees end? Hopefully it fixes itself soon.

P.S. I've checked all my connections and made sure everything is plugged in tight and also done the usual trouble-shootings. Using ethernet too :D .

Games tried: League of legends, CSGO, Apex Legends, TF2, POE. PUBG, VRCHAT

There seems to be issues with latency for me last night as well. Ping to Sydney is usually around the 30ms mark had gone up to around 70ms, speedtests were showing around 9Mbps which is unusual. I've started noticing it when Twitch streams started lagging and buffering.

However it went back to normal shortly after midnight.

Looks like a one off increase in traffic... until the next Call of Duty update comes through 😃.

Hi All

Just wanted to check in how everyone's pings are looking after we made a couple of changes to the network in the last few months.

Hi pwner,

Funny that this thread was bumped again because I have had high latency to ESO servers in the North American servers.

Usually it'll be around 250ms but yesterday it has started to become 350ms and up.

Hi Rob,

From my side, latency to Asia is significantly better from ~310 ms to ~130 ms

Thailand has definitely improved, 170 ms, Singapore seems the same, over 350 ms.

For the past day? Ive been receiving some very very wonky routing to connections in Australia resulting in high latency, mostly for Call of Duty and Tarkov.

I have gone from 25ms to 120ms to COD servers in Sydney.  I did a tracert at the time and it was showing traffic being passed to GTT in Sydney then routing off to Singapore and back through Perth and then Sydney, which makes no sense whatsoever. I will get an example and post it here shortly.

EDIT:  OK SO - Escape from Tarkov is being affected by the same issue, this tracert was to one of their servers. From memory the call of duty server routes were almost identical going GTT Sydney > TelstraGlobal Singapore 'apparently'.

Also related - this following tracert is to the Escape from Tarkov Singapore server, not too sure whats happening latency wise there, but its jumping to 200ms+, this is reflected in game as well.

I am also experiencing higher latency to some Sydney hosts today, generally in the ~120-130 ms range when it's usually sub-30 ms. This is noticeable when running a speed test to Telstra in Sydney, or playing WoW on an Oceanic realm. Other friends on 2degrees are also seeing similar latency increases.

I have heard reports from a few providers having issues with some of the IX's.

It would not surprise me if this is related.
