We are migrating to IP interconnects this year. There are already a few in service. I imagine we'll look at HD interconnect once the main part of the project is done.

Hi @SaltyNZ, sorry to bother but do you have updates in regards to the VoLTE rollout? We are on the North Shore (Albany) and neither my S20+ nor my wife's S21 Ultra have seen the VoLTE icon pop up. We do however have the VoLTE toggle in our settings.

VoLTE is only live north of Puhoi for some Samsung handsets

As Albany is South of Puhoi this is the reason why you have not seen the VoLTE icon

This page has been recently updated, looks like most Apple devices will work with VoLTE next month: Phones Compatible with VoLTE and WiFi Calling | 2degrees

Going to be a big month ahead as the MoRAN deployment is also finishing up in April if I recall correctly?

I just spent several hours pouring over logcats from my new S21 wondering why VoLTE wasn't working, only to discover this thread. I'm not in the service area yet 💢.

Oh well, still had fun. I've been wrestling with amazing log lines like the following:

03-16 19:40:22.080  2951  3175 I RegiMgr<0>: TWO_DEGREES VoLTE: no ims service for current rat13
03-16 19:40:22.090  2951  3175 I RegiMgr<0>: notifyImsRegistration(): Name : TWO_DEGREES VoLTE, enabled : 2, pdn : ims, transport : udp-preferred, roaming : true, scmversion : 0, selfport : 5060, emergency : false, hashAlgoType : 0
03-16 19:40:22.090  2951  3175 I ConfigModule<0>: onRegistrationStatusChanged: [TWO_DEGREES VoLTE] registered[false], response [0]
03-16 19:40:22.105  2951  3175 E #IMSREGI: (0, TWO_DEGREES VoLTE) NOT_TRIGGERED : VOPS_OFF

Lots of numeric status codes, unexplained acronyms and proprietary code (lotsa class names which don't show anything (or anything interesting) in the AOSP codebase).

Anyone know what this means? "isLimitedStateForCTCSlaveVoLTE=false"

Oh and lines like this which gave me false hope:

03-16 18:50:01.901  2878  3064 I RegiMgr<0>: updatePani RegisterTask[0][mProfile=TWO_DEGREES VoLTE, mRegistrationRat=18, mPdnType=11, mState=REGISTERED, mObject=UserAgent - :

Anyway, just wanted to vent. If anyone has any insights, I'd love to hear :)

Looking forward to a further rollout.

Is there any update on VoLTE rolling out to the rest of NZ and all supported devices? I'm conscious given the device compatibility says "estimated april 2021" and there is an Apple Event tomorrow which will hopefully mean iOS 14.5 comes out also will remove that warning that 2degrees is not certified for VoLTE.

@DjShadow Works great North of Puhoi and I really notice the difference in call quality when in Auckland

With iOS 14.5 out would be good to know if VoLTE is now approved for 2d devices!
