Got me beat why some of these mobile operators haven't announced a 3G switch off date. All mobile operators in the US have specified when 3G will be switched off.

All handsets sold should be VOLTE capable.

3G switch off can't come fast enough! if I could lock my handset to 4G only I would

Lets hope they improve their coverage before that happens.

This works great on my VF S10+ with Android 11. I can lock to all LTE bands or select LTE bands like b8 (900mhz).

Just download Samsung Band Selection app from the Play Store

Helps me test VFs LTE/VoLTE coverage from home to Wellington CBD. (Calls drop out around Ngauranga Gorge).

@Mahon Auckland is one place the MoRAN agreement is not really happening as 2d have built it's own network and is still expanding the network in Auckland the number of new in fill coverage sites built in the last 12 months is quite a few

You really need to do some fact checking before posting! The difference this has made in the Upper North Island is night and day

@michaelmurfy Can add comment here about parts of the South Island

Can we call VoLTE testing successful and roll it out to the rest of NZ since Linux is happy?

When calling from VoWi-Fi to VodafoneNZ mobile the HD icon does not show but call still sounded OK! Nothing like the sock over the phone calls I have had recently

Just called @Chris021 on SparkNZ and this was HD VoLTE to VoLTE and sounded clear

So why doesn't VoWifi use the high quality codec?

When I call a phone on the same wifi network, both with wifi calling enabled, the HD icon doesn't appear and voice quality is obviously unimproved. Same when calling VoLTE -> VoWifi. What's going on? (Both phones are Samsung, if it matters).

I'm not a handset expert, sorry, but I do have a packet capture of some Rx traffic in front of me right now clearly offering WB-AMR 16Kbps.
