cokemaster: Effectively throttled down to 1.2mbps. Shouldn’t be a big difference between carriers.

For me this doesn't work. I was quite happy on their rollover plans but now I note that I'll be forced onto one of their endless plans and use data sharing.
How does this work? Do my mobiles then eat into the endless cap?

@scottjpalmer it appears you can still data-share (somehow) but I am a little confused on the status of data sharing. I've got 5 mobiles I share to and would hate to lose this.
If only rollover still existed and the unlimited only kicked in once your rollover ran out.

According to the T&C's https://www.2degrees.nz/termsofuse/mobile/pay-monthly/2degrees-pay-monthly-endless-plans-terms-and-conditions/ (30. You cannot share data on your Plan.) unless i'm reading it wrong 😭

Wait what, we can't stay grandfathered on the current plans?
Having to have low use devices on pay monthly plans (as opposed to prepay currently) to be able to data share is a deal breaker for me too.
@michaelmurfy did you mean "lose" above?
AFAIK nobody is being forced off whatever plan they're currently on. And I'd be surprised if I was wrong. Every time we introduce a new product I try to kick marketing into getting the last 5 people off plans retired 250 years ago and they won't because it might upset someone. :-)

Hi all,
After doing the plan switch without realising the impact and then spending almost 20mins on call without any resolution, here is the summary in case you are looking at switching over to new plans:
Cheers
^^ That's what I didn't want to hear.
I temporary shifted to the 10gb plan as I had a little bit of rollover to use up and was just about to switch back to the 25gb plan. I've got 5 connections I share with. So essentially I can't swap back to my "regular" plan anymore without going onto the new endless plan that I don't want.
I like rollover data and the plans still gave great value. If us customers want to remain on the older rollover plans (eg - me shifting to the 25gb plan) can we do this without any trouble? @morganbrowne

Pretty unimpressed. I'm currently on the old $55 plan with 10GB rollover data and unlim calls/texts, sharing data to 4 lines and calls/texts to 3. Looks like my usecase has just exploded in cost.
My current call/text sharing is only $25 per line, looks like with the new 12GB plan it'll be $37.50 per line and I'll lose all my rollover data AND there's no option for data-only sharing with my elderly grandmother who never calls anyone.
Super disappointing.

prob yes in the short term. But you know that once plans are closed you’ll eventually end up in a cul de sac of something being incompatible.
shared rollover data has been fantastic - one sim on a good monthly plan with a bunch of $0 prepay sims in secondary devices has been a great benefit. The thought of having to pay for each sim now to feed those devices is a real shame.
but, having done the business cases for those plans... shared rollover anything is an absolute profit killer, and I’m surprised the plans been kept alive as long as they have.
