Okay so no VPN can you please tell me if you are experiencing any of the following:

  • Teams "We ran into an issue, refresh now"
  • Outlook hangs on "loading profile" "processing" when opening or opens and the bottom right-hand corner says "connecting to Microsoft exchange."
  • Edge sync says, "setting up sync" or "not syncing."

Cheers

Had this same issue this morning myself - also 2degrees and was working fine till yesterday. I thought at first this was due to the Azure issue in Aus East region but everyone else was fine - then I started blaming 2d as well for all the issues random drops recently. In the end it was my IE settings that got messed up for some reason. Was able to resolve by resetting.

Try this yourself if its the same issue - Open run in your computer and type RunDll32.exe InetCpl.cpl,ResetIEtoDefaults

Then press reset and try again.

@DimitryD I am having major issues with Teams over 2degrees at home (NorthPower Fibre) Teams messages fail to send all the time

Further to this Dropbox is very slow and Whatsapp sending photos is also very very slow

Connect to 2degrees mobile data 3G/4G/5G and zero issues

@pwner This issue is still ongoing

Edit: Many common Android Apps also fail to work. Turn off Wi-Fi connect back to the mobile data network and all issues gone

Pretty weird it would be the case that it is the network at fault considering the old 2degrees and Vocus networks are consolidating down on just the old Vocus AS for connectivity. For example I use a mobile service as my broadband as there are no fixed access options here and the routing is exactly the same as OP's once you get out of the mobile packet core:

If anything, I have higher latency than OP. Anyway - this suggests the issue is somewhere else. MTU maybe?

@SaltyNZ Something is broken for sure on the 2degrees network and I am getting to the point I will need to change ISP

I don't want change ISP and have spoken to @pwner about the issues but no updates

I connect to a friends fibre connection down the road on another ISP and zero issues come home and broken again

What is happening with 2D, my mother-in-law's connection is having the same issues.

Anyway, I had requested the connection with Quic to changeover on the 1st (today) so it will be sorted soon.

Crikey, I am disappointed with what 2D has become now.

Hi all, really appreciate you all getting involved - I'm a geekzone noob so don't know how to post individual replies (if that's at all possible) so I've included replies to all your messages here:

Jiriteach

So this is all showing that connectivity is there traffic is going out OK. You said in your OP that you work intranet page is not loading? Is that a public or inside the network and if so how are you connecting to the network?

Yes the intranet page is not loading - from our IT team: "Our intranet page is internal but hosted on Azure and it doesn't need VPN to work, Just internet is required"

Tinkerisk

What I would do (YMMV):

  •

    • checking the external DNS resolvers in use ( https://dnscheck.tools ) wether it only is the two IPv4only or four DNS w/IPv6 you want/have to use. Expect and verify multiple backup DNS resolver addresses from the ISP.
    • checking the modem connection to/from ISP (sometimes they do funny things, changing h/w in the field, etc.) - but unlikely since the other stuff is working.

To me it seems to be a DNS issue. Remember: „The culprit is always the DNS!“ πŸ˜‰

Here is what I get from the dnscheck website (i've removed my IP address from the first bullet - (for security? donno)):

Your DNS resolvers are: Google International

Google LLC

SNAPNET

Your DNS security:   ECDSA P-256 ECDSA P-384 Ed25519 Good signature βœ“ βœ“ … Bad signature βœ“ βœ“ … Expired signature βœ“ … … Missing signature βœ“ … …

No, none of these. Teams says: "We ran into a problem: reconnecting" and intermittently messages go through (very intermittently). Outlook app seems to work fine, website takes forever to load, then drops out and in. Edge doesn't say anything - when I try to load homepage (intranet) it thinks for ages then gives an error "hmmm... can't reach this page. It looks like [intranet website address] closed the connection" - note this error is slightly different to what I was getting yesterday which was "something went wrong - timed out" or similar.

Nice to hear you've resolved a similar issue! I've tried loading the pages in Edge and Chrome (don't have IE anymore). Same result. Any suggestions for resetting those in the same way you've reset IE? what's the code for command prompt?

I'm in Wellington and haven't experienced this issue until last Friday (precisely 12.57pm Friday 25 Aug 2023). Sucks to hear this is ongoing for you! I hope it isn't the case for me. I've loved being with 2degrees for the last little while, but if this is a fault on their end and not resolved quickly, I won't have a choice but to change to another ISP :(

I'd love to test - How?? image of Fritz!box setup menu below and doesn't seem to allow turning off one or the other.

@Delorean I think I will be following you, I have just emailed the CEO of 2degrees about this and another issue that is not fixed in the Android App 6+ months and 10+ phone calls - Getting told it is a phone issue

Someone calls me back and they say must be username / password issue. Odd cause the issue does not happen in the iOS App

I understand that you don't have IE installed (same as me) but its components are still being used in Windows and you may still need to run this to clear it up :) Let me know how you go with it

My MIL is on Chorus in Hawkes Bay so the issues seem to be nationwide and on different wholesalers
