Any updates to this? Want to know the real kicker, Myself and two mates are all with orcon, we all live in palmy and all 3 of us drop connection at the exact same time while gaming...

Unfortunately not to the point of being happy

Some change was made which changed the result from immediate disconnects to massive rubber banding (technically better… but not usable).

I’ve been away for the week so not sure if anything else was done in this time

Any idea who the carrier is for Mercury as I'm pretty sure they don't have their own NOC (network Op centre)?

It is Trustpower - they've just been through a rebrand.

I'm with 2Degrees (merged from MyRepublic) - same issue as you consistently every night and afternoons.

I notice that the download speed drops to low 10s during those times, but the upload stays high. I drop out of games but am still connected to Discord when talking to my mates, they can hear me, but I can't hear them.

I notice that this also happens during the day when I wfh, websites will stop loading for a minute or so and then recover.

The other day I was playing CS and 2 of us dropped out for a minute and then came back with 250 ping and recovered at the same time after 5 - 6 minutes, both of us are on 2Degrees and came from the merger, we are both on other sides of Auckland so it cannot be a local exchange issue.

I’ve seen this issue quite a bit. 2degrees would’ve migrated you over with replicated MyRepublic settings so you wouldn’t have to change anything.

However, there will still be settings that are different which may be causing dropped packets etc.

As much as it may hurt, Factory Reset your modem whilst it’s connected to the ONT. It will pick up all the settings from the Server and should (hopefully) kick out all the unneeded ones.

The length of your disconnect seems different to mine so idk if its the same, but if its anything similar then factory resetting the modem is not the resolution needed.

Ive relegated my position to waiting out until next month (as il be away over december) and then giving notice because at this stage there is still no ETA on a fix.

Completely unacceptable for an issue like this to have been around for SO LONG and to be kept on the backburner

What I’m assuming is that your disconnection issue, and the persons above Disconnection issues are different. From my experience troubleshooting the MyRepublic disconnection issue, a Factory Reset has in the past, fixed the issue. For your issue, I’m not sure.

I'm going to try factory reset, the only reason I'm commenting here even tho its a different ISP is because my symptoms seem almost identical to what OP is seeing.

I myself live in palmy with Orcon and experience the same issues. Ive tried everything here with no solve! Just swapped routers and last thing to do is ISP i feel. Ive reset everything more times than i  can count, done logs, replaced and swapped cables, tried different pcs both wifi and ethernet. Im just going to bite the bullet and change.

Given there's a number of people in Palmerston North reporting the same issue, it may pay for them to contact each other via PM to see just how close together they actually are. Don't post addresses in public.

This reminds me of this thread where there was an issue with a Chorus POLT affecting people in a very small geographical area. Could be something similar.
