Also. If I call a number that I want and there's a message saying "We didn't recognise the number you are calling. Please try again." It's in the avaliable number range so does that mean it's reserved?

Have you actually signed into Your 2degrees? Or is this an error you are getting once you have logged in and picked a new your number?
If it's the latter then can you call the team on 0800 022 022 to get them to sort it out for you.

Cheers!

Not necessarily. You're getting that message because the number hasn't been activated. Some of the numbers have been taken, but not activated, some are permanently not available, so it's hard to tell this way.
If it's on the choose your number section and you can see it there then it's available and your's for the taking.

I find it hard to believe that someone has gotten every version of 022xrichms available, yet calling them i get that they didnt recognize the number I have dialed. What gives when I get that message calling? Someone got it but not set up VM onit?

Trying to log into the forgot password link shows that it doesnt exist, yet I cant get it? Why?

Give it another whirl. You'll not get 022 7, 022 8 or 022 9 as mentioned earlier and 022 5 and 022 6 are very lean as they are mostly out on shelves.

Cheers!

I just tried to get my home fone number. No info so I called it and got the recored message. If we had been able to reserve numbers as I wanted to do pre launch I'm sure there would not be allot of peed off people out there now who can't get numbers. I wanted this number for my wifes fone. Oh well . When my existing credit expires so does 2D and she will just stay with Telecom....

Why don't you just move the telecom number to 2degrees or can you do a number that spells her name?

It appears so.  The number I wanted was in the 022 27X XXXX range.  And no point in porting my wife's existing Telecom CDMA number across to 2D as she is still on Onebill plus it's not our home number as it is gone on both Telecom and Vodafone..

When the announcement was first made there were certainly lots of 022 4* numbers available. I started on the process of switching my number then realised I'd made a mistake and actually wanted an 022 3* number (only the first digit was wrong) but it was not available.

There were also truckloads of 022 3* numbers available and I could have gotten another similar to what I orginally wanted but decided not to. I also had a bit of trawl through the other number ranges.

My point is - loads of numbers were available in the ranges specified. If the one you want isn't there or whole range is now not available, it mainly means you (like me) were too slow to get what you wanted. That's not 2 Degrees fault so don't grumble at them.
