Still on Orcon, but the main line downstairs has been changed back over to Telecom from TelstraClear. On the Broadband Pro (as part of TotalHome) they are consistently getting 10.2Mb/s to Auckland, ~9Mb/s to Sydney, ~8Mb/s to LA, and pings in the 20s, 40s, and about 110 respectively regardless of the time of day or night. YouTube, downloads, etc, are all perfect - Internet how it should be.

Still waiting for the technician to come to the house to change our line and merge it with the main one, but looking forward to getting those speeds on our computer, at which point it will be 'so long Orcon'.

well, its something to do with where/how/etc you're connected up.

Im getting pings consistantly of about 31ms to both of those IP's.

PS: Im on ADSL2+ (Orcon+)

The speeds may be good, but at $20.40/GB when you go over the 40GB allowance, it's insanely expensive.

I guess we have to stick with the big broadband providers since they are the ones with the good supply lines.

I'm still considering the switch to Telstra, but some people have been complaining recently, so I'm unsure.

You can say that again.

If Telecom came out with a 80GB ADSL2+, I'm so there.

Every ISP has their complaints.. Telecom, Orcon, Slingshot. The lot.

You'll never get a perfect connection unfortunately, I guess its just trial and error..

if it helps, when I was with Telstra, I had fantastic internet all of the time.

you are "pretty sure" you're on the + network?

how sure are you? because if im not mistaken', you're stats show a perfect ADSL1 profile :P. Unless of course your +network connection actually really does suck.

Well, I said performance on WoW is horrible, then, in my next post I said 700ms, so, using logic, one would assume I'd be talking about WoW.
