In game this ends up being around 500+, But if I try to raid or arena or w/e it just sky rockets above 1k. Have tried playing with and without smooth ping which usually drops my ping to 140 but it makes no difference.

LA is where the server I play on is based so the D/S rate says it all :)

I have the same problems with world of Warcraft. My server is based in Seattle.

I won't say any more because individuals in this thread believe I should censor what I say. I will say this. I have multiple accounts with Orcon. And have used them for the last 7 years. I believe I have the "necessary" experience with Orcon to make the decision to leave.

Being with them for 6 months, and singing their praises only proves ignorance.

That is the last thing I will say in this thread until my connection changes. Then I will post once more to tell you all my honest experience with a new ISP. And believe me, if it is worse than Orcon, I will swallow my pride and tell you all. :)

Hey I have been with orcon for about 3 years and it has been really good for 80% of that time. There was a period a few years back where they ran out of international bandwidth, after a long wait it was eventually fixed after a few months.

My slightly tongue in cheek response wasn't directed at you Brookz. I know you were there through the bad weather "broke" orcon's bandwidth thing (only last May-ish, would you believe)

Good on you for hanging in there. I just can't justify it any more after watching friends on other ISPs get consistantly better reliability than me.

Oh nah man I know how you feel :D. @ $120+ a month you would think youtube wouldn't have to buffer for 2mins before I can watch anything..

I could live with it if it only buffered for two mins lol. At it's worst I had to buffer for 10 mins just to watch a 1 min video with a pause.

Incidentally, the current YouTube performance on my end (post fixes tonight) is about the same performance I have been getting at 11pm every night since the slowdown. I will reserve judgement until tomorrow.

Make sure you're using Orcon DNS servers to resolve names - only way you'll get the Orcon YouTube cache.

Slight possibility that the cache origin downloads are still a little slow but I'm sure that's taken care of as much as possible :)
