It seems like it's a browser issue. IE seems to work ok, but not firefox..

Working on a fix now.

I assume you select the $20/month contract plan when going through the online signup form too, with no added extras?

Oh, also a friend of mine called the 0800 number and was told he'd get the free 100TXT's a month, but not the 20minutes of calls? Maybe your support people need some more training/updating on this?

In order get this out quickly, the free minutes and txt's are only available via calling us - as per the standard offer at the moment. https://www.slingshot.co.nz/MobilePlans.aspx

Best thing is to call us in that respect.

Yes I agree, will mention this to the call centre.

After years of being frugal due to (what I personally consider) very expensive calling and txt options in NZ, I think it would be completely inappropriate for me to miss out on this amazing offer.

While I won't take it up myself I will get a family member onto this asap - what time does the call centre close tonight and what will we need to provide the CSR in order to get it all set up?

Final question for your "mini-FAQ" would be - how long does it take to get the phone/sim/plan up and running, and how much down time is there between losing the XT line and getting the Slingshot line?

Also, just for me - does Slingshot offer "real time access" to billing to see what charge you just incurred a minute ago?

Close at 10pm - CSR needs the HEX code of the phone or sim card (going by my experience).

If this offer had been made by Vodafone I think the internet would sh*t itself under the heavy load.

Why is it that this offer seems to have had such a lukewarm reception? (discuss)

Great to hear :)

What time does the call centre close tonight?

10pm. Best call by 9pm to ensure everything get's sorted.

What will we need to provide the CSR in order to get it all set up?

The only things you'll need to track down are:

XT Pre-pay customer: XT sim card number

XT On-account customer:  name of account and account number

Otherwise it's just personal details and so forth.

How long does it take to get the phone/sim/plan up and running?

2-3 days to receive your sim. 2 business hours to activate and port.

How much down time is there between losing the XT line and getting the Slingshot line?

Approx downtime is 15 min.

Real-time billing?

Not currently. Otherwise we'd have a pre-pay offer in the market ;)

Cheers :) Sorry more questions.

So in the 2-3 days before receiving our SIM (I presume phone comes at the same time?) do we continue to use the XT SIM and line? Does porting happen AFTER we receive the phone to ensure as little downtime as possible?

Cheers!

No worries, although about to go home so last post. Will be around again tomorrow.

Do we continue to use the XT SIM and line?

Yes

Does porting happen AFTER we receive the phone to ensure as little downtime as possible?

Yes, you decide when the port happens via logging into our customer portal (My Account).

Although you need to do it within 7 days of receiving the SIM and phone, otherwise it will be automatically activated.

Sorry... what was that? If you sign up online you don't get the 100 free texts and 20 mins included?? You have to ring customer service??
