Their home line is a resold Telecom line, although I believe some of the services are managed separately. I have no experience with them for line rental.

Broadband speeds are OK. Not superb, but the internet is completely usable most hours of the day (exception being sometimes during the off-peak hours.)

Few (not many) outtages.

Basically, for the price, they're not bad.

Slingshot FS/FS plan ($50 25GB) in Timaru at 7.30pm on a weeknight.

Im quite happy with the service, great speed (at night upto 20Mb) never had a drop out, VERY fast torrent downloads.

My experience with their broadband is also that it is reliable and quite usable.  The off-peak/data banking are good services too.  I can't speak for their homeline but when they offer the 'Next Big Thing' packages down this way I'll seriously look at them.

Hi

i have been with slingshot for almost 3 years now and from my personal experience i have never had any probles with either the phone line or BB, and surprisingly i have never even had to call them regarding a problem

i also have a second line at my house which is a Telecom line and the voice quality is pretty much same as my slingshot line

cheers

lol whenever I think of Slingshot I think of some dumb blonde in a tight t-shirt with stretched Slingshot logo over her chest and telemarketers ringing me up during dinner time trying to hassel me in to using them...

Really never have and never will see them as a serious company.

I too am considering Slingshot. Looking at Just-Broadband plan (FS/FS 25GB).

Can someone please do some speedtest.net tests to outside NZ. Preferably in peak hours but off-peak would also be interesting.
