Slingshot Browsing sucks. After about 8pm ever night, all international and local sites are slower than 56K.
I like to list items to sell on trademe in the evenings and bid, but when you get outbid because trademe keeps timing out that just drives me nuts.
The thing is downloads are not that bad but browsing is just a waste off time.
Im considering leaving slingshot and going to xtra???

usually my issues are with international web sites after 8pm. nationals seems to be alright. yeah i mean if your usage is not high then by all means look for a provider that is more stable, even if it means paying a bit extra per month. i am still waiting out my 6 months contract. Launched my complaint a month ago. Yet to hear back... A better place, Yeah Right.

The reason you are getting 30-40 kB/s offpeak with your torrents is the fact that Slingshot have taken on a HEAP of new leeching bigtime customers, which is unfortunate. Also TCNZ only offer a 46kbps backhaul which can get eaten up pretty quickly.

The users that are still getting good speeds are probably on the red network or another ULL (orcon, slingshot) and dont have this limit.

As with what richms said, he is one of the reasons people are having so many problems. You dont WANT to connect to 1000's of peers, you want to connect to a max of a few hundred. This is what is choking pipes in ISPs around the country.

In my opinion, L2P2P. Stop trying to squeeze the life out of every decent service there is and in the process kill it.
