maverick: Question ... why don't you guys post these in the SS forums surely you will get a more direct answer in their own forums ?

They activly block their forums from being indexed in google, meaning that complaints there will not assist others that are googling for the problem, and they dont do anything to bring the attention of those forums to their own customers.

Totally agree!  I also hate the way things mysteriously vanish off their forums...

I did it for that exact reason too.  The google rankings for Geekzone go straight up the list.  So anyone searching for Slingshot Charges will find that in the first 10 results, 5 will be complaints about Slingshot charges.

Yes well surprise surprise SS stuffed up my final bill. Despite 2 phonecalls and 2 emails weeks before my departure they have charged me for the next month net and 2 mobile phone plans. Even tho they happily ported my mobile phones to the new provider they claim they have no knowledge of me switching providers and have asked me to sort it out with my new mobile co.

Has taken 2+ hours so far with new provider saying they have done all they can and will try another email but I just can't wait on hold for SS.

I have tried sending emails, however my first email was not replied to, and the second took ten days for a reply!

Why did I leave you again?

Hey, I have just noticed that they did add their overpriced data plan in december to my mobile despite them never calling me to tell me it was active, as they couldnt add it straight away on dec 26th as it needed a person who was absent.

So now I have a ticket in to try to get a credit on it since I never used it since that sim is now in my stonerphone and I have 2degrees in the smart phone for the much sweeter data rates they offer.

Mine was on the 27th and I got it back....but then yeah, got charged for being 3 weeks late on the bill...even though they told me till "wait till next month to see if the billing sorts itself out.  Not happy to pay the extra money but happy to hopefully be out of the many months of billing issues and unreliability

In summary, these are the features of a "Better Place".

- Incredible offers which is impossible to beat on paper, sometimes appearing "too good to be true"

- A billing system which consistently makes errors, either due to human error when loading services, or errors that are systemically built into the system and invisible to all

- Flat out refusal to believe any customer that queries incorrect charging, pre-prepared letters sent out to customers that raise any formal complaint about over-charging which simply claim "on review of your bill we have found it to be correct"

- Flat out refusal to believe any customer that queries incorrect charging, even if they have the data and evidence to prove it

- Customer Service that won't take you seriously until you raise the problem on Geekzone forums or on Twitter

- Usually empty promises to contact you about your concerns after you have spent hours on hold, and posted publicly on Geekzone forums and/or Twitter

- If someone actually does contact you and rectifies the problem, you'll be left wondering whether it was really worth all that time and effort to get a few dollars back

If this is a better place, I'm happy to be going to a worse place.

In response to my previous post on being charged extra by Slingshot when moving to another provider; after numerous phonecalls to my new providers and SS it is all sorted. SS have removed the extra months charges they were trying to charge, and all seems well.

I can now be free of Slingshot.

I just paid the extra and got out, in the end it was worth paying to get out of such a joke of a company!
