timmmay: I got a txt about an hour ago telling me they're confident the issue has been fixed. Fingers crossed it works :)

We're checking your accounts logs now.

Cheers and thanks to everyone for their patience.

This happened to me twice today, once from me to another 2 degrees number and once from me to a telecom number. Each time taking about 2 hours.

Not sure about anyone else but this is only happening when i send to ported numbers.

I had some delayed today but I was in and out of coverage all afternoon in west auckland. And it seems I have voicemail on my phone again too. Grrrr.

It's doing it again.

Text sent 5.48, received 6.40. Same numbers as before, from Telecom 027 363 xxxx to 2degrees 021 846 xxx.

So much for "we're confident we've fixed the problem".

At work we frequently get critical system alerts delivered to our mobile phones so was pretty interesting sitting in a meeting last week watching how much time difference there was between different people on different networks getting the same alerts...

By the time I got my txt alerts the problem had already been fixed :)

I'm sure the guys at 2D are working hard to get it fixed.

This might be a completely different non related issue

They told me a week ago they were confident they fixed it, so I doubt it. They seem like good guys, but the network isn't that reliable. I'm sure they'll get there eventually. It's a decent enough consumer grade service.

Could be, I mentioned that to my partner this evening, who sent me the text. Which, incidentally, for personal reasons was a text I would've liked to have received immediately. And i'm a complaining pain in the butt, I know. But I don't care. I expect it to "just work", not fail so regularly. Same problem or different, makes no difference to me.

I complained about Vodafone too, over plans pricing and service, but the network pretty much "just worked".

There is an issue with our roaming partners network which is also affecting texts to and from their customers. They're working on getting it resolved as quickly as possible.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Roaming wasn't involved. Both phones were in Johnsonville, Wellington, with the 2degrees phone on the 2degrees network not roaming onto Vodafone as far as I can tell.

SMS is not a reliable communication tool. for emergencies you should all be using pagers. If you work with technology you should know better.
