this forum has certain assured me of that :)
has made me a lot more open-minded about trying out the competition. (not in a position to do so at this stage, though -- just keeping my eye on things)

I switched to Slingshot on the 10/02/2012 and immediately I began to experience fluctuations in broadband speed. I was fully aware the speed was throttled but didn't expect to get constant ISDN speeds and could barely hold a 2Mbps for more than 2hours. I also noticed an increase in SPAM and my firewall and spam filters were working around the clock to filter and quarantine these threats. I've had my email service running for 5 years with Telecom and never had an issue until this week with Slingshot. I've contacted Slingshot's technical support team to look into these issues and would wait 30min-1hour and would resort to requesting a call back and never get one. I've also emailed Slingshot regarding these issues but get no reply and still waiting.

As a result I've had to switch back to Telecom and they've been generous enough to give me a FREE month knowing full well I've got a $60 bill from Slingshot which I believe I shouldn't be paying with the disappointing and fraustrating broadband experience.

I tried the request a call back feature once...It never worked for me either.

Hey,

If you call from a mobile it will "insist" to call you back,

The callback feature is basically a stored call in the system, If the call drops we cannot make the callback so with the power issues we had last week etc we lost all the calls at the time, Maybe this was one of them.

Cheers,
Joe.

Never had any issues calling the help desk, especially if you do it in the morning and the reps here are the best.
As for the increase in spam and viruses.....we all know you don't get those  through Telecom(sarcasm)
That will be why they have that bulk email folder in the Yahoo/xtra email.
Seriously?

Mine has massively slowed down tonight, under 200kB/s on torrents even with some NZ peers in the mix.

Still getting the same as before on rsyncs over ssh and scp's, which is about 80-90kB/sec/thread up to a few and then basically a total of 400kB/sec across all of them.
