So I called Slingshot on Saturday, hung up on 3 times, disconnected the call myself twice because I was on hold for over 15mins, so I called Telecom to ask a few questions, mainly about the waiting list on the exchange. I'd like to switch, but they said due to a sub-devision being built down the road, I may not be able to get back onto the Telecom network quick if the service is bad, and the reviews I see about Slingshot, too much of a risk. Sorry guys :/

Hi Sam - that doesn't sound right at all. Could you drop me an email so I can investigate what went wrong when you called on Saturday? scott.page@team.slingshot.co.nz

Thanks in advance

So get the slingshot connection as a new one and run both till you arehappy that the slingshot one is working for you? Imo the possibility of losing the port makes that advisable for any ISP change if you rely on internet. It shouldnt be this way really.

Its not possible to have two phone services connected to the same line though is it?

I'm chaning to the Slingshot uncapped plan.  My kids are destroying our 100gig plan with Telecom.  They said it'll take about a week to switch. I'll keep you posted how it goes.  Telecom speeds have been poor in the evenings lately.

No, its not, but they have said there is no term commitment for the landline portion of the deal if you are not happy with the flatrate plan so getting a second one on doesnt commit you to a year of a second redundant landline.

I have passed your phone number on my sales team who will be in touch tonight.

As you would know, i cannot place your order or provision your services without first identifying who you are, and then seeking your agreement/consent.

Nebbie:
polglase:
If so, is a static IP available with this plan and what is the cost?

I'm not 100% sure if static IP's are available on the unlimited plan only on capped plans.
I will check tomorrow.

I haven't checked in for a few days, but reading through the forum I didn't see an answer to the static IP question. Did I miss it?

Well, after deliberating for the last couple of years ;) I have finally switched to Slingshot (Unlimited). However, the sign up form stated it will take up to a week for some reason. Is this just standard wording? When I switched from Telecom to Actrix previously, the switch over happened the same day, so a little confused.

I've emailed Scott too, as he asked me to let him know when I made the switch so he could make sure things went smoothly. I can pm/email my account number to whoever, if you need to check.

Cheers,
Tarique.
