Hi Shaun,

Cheers for the fast response. I'm particularly interested in the Cambridge Terrace exchange. I have tried enabling Annex M and it failed hence my query on exchange unbundling. :)

When you say exchange dependent, are there certain exchanges containing your equipment capable of supporting Annex M and others that cannot?

Hi 1080p,

I havn't been able to get a straight answer for that yet but I have queried it for you and will let you know as soon as I can.

As for exchange dependencies this shouldn't effect Wellington, but in Auckland we use two different types of equipment in the exchanges, one type does support it, one type doesn't.

If connected directly to our MSAN's you will be able to get ANNEX M however if your connected for POTS on our MSANS and DSL is via a Cabinet you wont be able to use ANNEX M.

Essentially If your on a cabinet you can't if your on a exchange you can.

Did not know you guys support Annex M.
I am ATM connected to you guys via Telecom wholsale connection, do they support Annex M?
Or would I have connect to your gear, which we do have in our exchange.
Need more upload speed.

Telcome don't have ANNEX M enabled so the only way to get it your need to be connected to our exchanges, Bear in mind ANNEX M you will lose some down stream and gain some upstream.

Also note the amount of speed you lose downstream dosen't mean you will gain this for upstream.

Ok, how would I go about changing to your gear in our exchange.
I think the reason I am on Telecom wholesale ATM is  because I did not port my phone line to Slingshot only broadband (to try out the uncapped $69 plan) would that be correct?

Disappointing Slingshot, so may promises broken.

I posted about my issue in this thread.

But the help there has failed so I have had to prod here as your big guns only read this one thread.
I don't why that is, I thought it would be easy to monitor the whole geekzone Slingshot Callplus forum via the useful Rss feed.

I'm having trouble loading certain websites. This problem started a few days before Christmas. I've done a bunch of tracerts, pings, etc and the websites all appear to be up and operational. The only way I've been able to get them to load is through random proxies I've found on Google. It's not just on my PC either, all of my devices that are capable of web browsing can't load them properly. It could be an issue with my router, it is an old D-Link G604T. But I want to make sure it's not a problem on Slingshot's end before I drop 100+ dollars on a new one. Two of the websites in question are thesnakesoup.org, and animenewsnetwork.com. I'm on the 100GB plan, by the way.

Any help/advice would be great, thanks!

Hi guys,

I have escalated this with our network operations team, we have had reports of around 5 sites not working at this point. Hopefully should be resolved soon :)

Hi

I am really keen to switch to Slingshot, I'm mainly looking into the Broadband 250 Plan, but I'll try the Unlimited plan first (reason being, no contract)

My father said that we have been with Slingshot around 2005/2006 and he said we recieved bad connection, slow speed and bad customer service.

In the thread about the release of the Unlimited plan, I read that someone said that Slingshot was getting a better reputation and people were receiving good connection and good speeds.

Now, what I'm basically asking is if I switch over from my current ISP (Telecom), will the connection, speed, etc be better? I live in West Auckland, in the Te Atatu suburbs and I currently have a Telecom Thomson TG585v7 Wireless Modem.

Just changed from Telecom(80Gb plan),to the $60 slingshot deal (no term so easy to escape). Our household have been really happy with the results so far with no issues at all and excellent speeds. Yes this from slingshot! We plan to see how it goes before moving more services to them. We should be able to save a few dollars(we were getting killed by traffic overage on Telecom). Andrew
