Appears we're not getting mail this morning, nothing on the Orcon site and no reply from premium support regarding this issue.

I have been receiving email fine this morning via Outlook, so not sure if it's a web-based thing.  It may have something to do with a problem with phishing emails.

They did have a problem with phishing emails being sent out yesterday with the title 'Orcon Spring Cleaning' - I was alerted to the fact that it was a phishing email because it came into my Outlook as having been received 'tomorrow' and the date in the internet headers showed a non-existent day/date combination of Thursday 20th June 2012!  I contacted them to let them know, and they were aware of it and said they were working hard to sort it out... but nothing appeared on their network status or their Facebook page, though I did make a post about it on my page and tagged Orcon in it.

The email curiously didn't contain a hyperlink, but read:

Hi there,

We are doing a little bit of Spring cleaning (yeah yeah, we know it's Winter, what can we say, we are ahead of the curve), and want to make sure we are sending all the important things we send out to the best email address for you.

To check that we are sending emails to your favourite/ preferred/ most checked email address, head to

Log into My Orcon (you'll need your username and password).

Then, under My Account click on personal info, and select the email tab.

 With us so far?

There you'll see the email addresses we have listed for you. You can add a new one if you need, and then, most importantly, make sure you have the best email address selected (shown by that little blue button).

That way we t sending emails to a mailbox you rarely check.

 Got it? Great.

 Thanks again!

 The team @ Orcon

Nope, nothing to do with phishing or webmail (in fact mails aren't showing in web mail so where are they sitting?)  Iserve/Orcon are having email issues but of course haven't bothered to put anything on their support page.  I've had a third test mail come through but still waiting for numbers one and two and just received another that has been sitting on their server since Tuesday.

Some time ago (October last year) I had delays in receiving some email addresses from people with email addresses with xtra, and also sometimes with gmail and hotmail.  Orcon at that time just told me that they had been having massive problems with their webserver and were working to get it fixed, but this persisted on and off for about 4 months with no logical explanation from them.  Sometimes they would come through immediately, sometimes they wouldn't reach me at all, and sometimes with up to a 2 day delay!

I don't know what is (or was!) going on, but all I know is that fortunately I have not had that problem for quite sometime.

By the way, if you do use Outlook, looking at the internet headers of the delayed email you do end up receiving and working through the servers the email passed through and the times they were received will show you where the delay has occured.

Here is an example below with some parts obscured with asterisks from when I had the problem last year, which was actually in NOVEMBER, not October as previously said.
