We currently have an old Orcon plan that gives us 30Gb plus tolls for $62 a month.

We then pay $44 or something for a phone (so around $106 a month)

With the new Orcon plans - if we move to homeline I guess we get this exact same feature for $75 a month? (As we can cancel our account with Telecom - is that correct?)

Also does the change to Orcon homeline require mucking about at the cabinet (i.e. could we end up on a waiting list of some sort if they come to make the change and find no space available)

note this isn't switching to Genius- just trying to see if we can switch to the new $75 a month plan and get what we have now (Internet and a fixed-wire landline)

As far as I can tell these plans are 'Genius only' in that they do not allow you to use a separate supplier for voice calls.  If you choose a plan you are required to go through address verification (my address validates OK) then the $75 plan presented is a Genius-only plan - no mention of 'homeline' as an option.

I think since you are already a customer of Orcon with your broadband it would probably just be a matter of you contacting their CSRs and it would only be a matter of transferring your landline account from Telecom to them and then they would set you up on that plan. If someone like Cam from Orcon sees this thread he may be able to confirm what I have said but as far as I know that would probably be the process. Oops oldgeek could be right too it may only be for the Genius. I read homeline and took that to be a landline

Just did a bit of checking on Orcons address checker and checked an address which doesnt have Orcon genius available and if you did have a landline with Orcon with 25GB of data you would still be paying $106 a month.
