Yeah, I did just read back through a few pages (have to admit I haven't waded rou all of the posts on this one!).
We can but hope. Vdsl looks interesting though, as my part of Auckland isn't on the schedule for fibre for at least the next 2 or 3 years, and we are pretty central.

I did also read the post on the ore thread where Q mentioned there were some pretty significant changes still rolling out. Will have to see if that helps anything.

Everytime I've tried to find out on the phone how much is excessive or roughly how much is okay, I've been told no comment basically. With my 1TB plan I have only 2-3 times gone over 800gb, usually its more like 500-700gb... have I really been sticking to this plan and paying all this extra money for... nothing :( ? If I should be switching over can I do that with you in private messages or do I need to call them on the phone?

I just signed up a couple of months ago. They never stated I would be charged, they did however say if I used between 450gb-1tb they would call to discuss it. Ultimately the 'calm down' call that was mentioned earlier.

Still painfully slow in the evenings and actually getting worse. Any updates on this legendary Aus bandwidth 'fix'?

Yep Sounddude tried to get it to stand up this morning but there were issues with the upstream and it had to be backed out.

The carrier is investigating and then we will try again as soon as we can.

Yup... These speeds to AU are getting really old now... 
Seems to take orcon weeks to sort any speed issue...

For asked to run the Orcondiagnostics tool on Sunday, ran it and was a bit surprised at the results. Local was 12M +, Australian target was something like 700k download. Pretty pathetic, but confirms the issue is likely related to this rather than anything at my end.
Still haven't heard anything from Orcon on the results though.

Not for LoL gaming. 89 ping ms constant to server in Australia. Orcon unlimited plan, not UFB.

Shame the 'Good things take time' isn't just a once off, several times this year we've had international issues that go on for weeks...

Yes but to be fair it wasn't a stationary target, for a while the demand was growing faster than we could source and add int bandwidth, the new owners accelerated the capacity growth on both US and Syd links, Syd has just taken longer to get the carriers to setup. Still our problem I agree but not one we have been ignoring.
