My relatives have an Orcon free e-mail address (but no other services with the company at this stage). They forgot their password, so last night called and had it reset. I was going to change it to something they could remember, however when I login to the My Account part on the Orcon website and try to follow the change password steps as per their help documentation:

http://www.orcon.net.nz/support/gfaq_page/how_do_i_change_and_update_my_email_password

there is no "My Details" section. I know this used to be done as I changed my own one not that long ago - but the website has changed since there. Can someone please point me in the right direction?

Thanks :)

There should be a "Change Password" section however as far as I know, you cannot choose a password, you must generate a new, secure password.

edit: there is also a "My Details" section... what does My Orcon look like when you log in?  Can you provide a screenshot (but redact any personal details?)

If they only have the email service then if they haven't logged in for a while they may need the Helpdesk to reset the service and password (as a security measure).

Hmmm...when did that change? I have a free e-mail account as well and have set my own password previously without having to call in.

From memory about 6 weeks ago, more details on our FAQ page:

Okay - except we both check our free addresses every day. Wouldn't that show as it being used?

Yes I did say at the start this may apply if they hadnt logged in for a while.

Best to call and have the Helpdesk check.
