Arranged to go from 30/10 Unlimited to the new plan of 100/20 Unlimited. I got the text from Orcon yesterday just after lunch saying switch has been completed. I am guessing that it means they have passed the request onto Chorus.

What I am wondering is what is the average time for the change to take place? I am in Dunedin and have done a ONT & Modem reboot in case it was required.

No, "completed" means "completed" - run a speed test and see what you get, we are showing you configured at 100/20.

Using speedtest.orcon.net.nz I am averaging 27/8.5Mbps speeds which is what I am use to seeing. Have done a restart on everything and unplugged everything apart from my main computer and reran the test. Got similar speed result.

So looks like Chorus have told us they have completed the speed upgrade but reality looks different, our team are raising it with them as a provisioning error now....

Thank you for that. I will retest later on today and see what happens.

Please make sure you're running the Speedtest over Ethernet and not WiFi.

I always run tests via UTP. Only my tablet & phone use the wifi and that is only because thats all they can use. My background is as a network engineer so testing wasn't an issue.

All sorted.

For anyone's benefit, "completed" means the LFC have told us work is complete so the speed upgrade, connection or change should work from that time. If it doesn't please respond to the team so they can look into it and resolve the issue.
