Hey, so by the looks of things this isnt just affecting me, but the internet is going REALLY slow for me.

im on VDSL and ill attach my line stats below but im pretty sure its not my line :P

i tried calling orcon but i got a message saying they were experiencing higher than normal call volumes - go figure.

our voip wont work either because the connection is going so slow.

the weird thing is, occasionally a web page will load quickly or ill be able to load speedtest.net and get a speedtest done, but then a couple of seconds later it'll just stop working agan.

i've rebooted the modem several times and it does not solve the problem.

Same issue here on UFB in wellington.

Weirdly I am getting full upload speed, but around 0.35 down.

Same issues here in Christchurch (Rolleston) very slow or non existant VDSL and phone. Snail pace download and almost normal upload. Copping grief from Mrs who is trying to complete some online training course.

Atrociously slow in Porirua.... the Orcon speed test won't even complete....

I have tried the following advice from the speed test page but it doesn't seem to be helping :P

How to improve your broadband speeds
DO get the fastest type of broadband available at your house. Standard broadband (ADSL) is fast, VDSL is faster, and UFB is the fastest.
DO make sure your router is placed either a) in the middle of your home and/or b) where you use WiFi the most.
DO get a splitter installed and your wiring checked. Home wiring degrades over time and is a common cause of poor speeds.
DO use wired connections (Ethernet) instead of WiFi where possible.
DON'T rely on old modems/routers, computers and devices to give you the best possible speeds.

Couldn't even load the Orcon main page was like being on dial up waiting for a picture to load. Also reminds me of an IT crowd episode.  CoD AW was bust as is Netflix

What do you honestly expect for a cheap residential service? It doesn't appear down, it is just degraded.

No but the remaining capacity was maxxing out causing the degradation.

It suddenly seems better. Hopefully, the problem is fixed.
