Really getting sick of these "Ultra Fast" speeds

Early April I got 27/10 consistantly

Today I was getting 18 down at 12:30PM, tonight, 14Mb.

Orcon have advised me that UFF are looking into it...  Well, that was last wednesday when they started "looking into it", now it's just getting worse.

Oh, wow, I have NEVER been below 27.7/9.7 till now. Now I see what you guys have been seeing. It now jumps around and gives 18-24 down.

Orcon, what the hell is going on? Your customers deserve some response as to what the problem is and when it will be fixed.

The deathly silence is appalling, especially as your guys on this forum have been very helpful up till now. It looks like they have been gagged on this issue.

I have been supportive since my UFB was installed in Aug 2012 and realise that technical issues can and do arise but it is the lack of information that is the real problem for me.

Insulting your loyal customers by ignoring them won't end well.

So Orcons Head Office rang again and since it has not improved by the date they are letting me walk and they are waiving the termination fee. I deeply feel for any of the new users or old users on this thread who are still experiencing this issue and I hope you get a resolution soon.

What a nightmare this has been.

When I called last night, I was informed that an issue such as this has a 10 business day SLA...

Good thing we are moving to BigPipe in 7 days :D

I was considering upgrading to fibre as I am on adsl with orcon (been a customer for 4 years). I currently only get 12Mbps down and 0.7Mbps up so any package was going to be an improvement (was aiming for the 100/50).

However,

have all put me off the idea of upgrading within Orcon, however I am unable to find a competitor who offers 100/50 for the same price. as it isnt urgent I may have to stick around and give it time to see if the overall performance of Orcon improves....I am very unmotivated to make the change.

If you're in their coverage area Bigpipe's 200/200 plan is only $4 more a month than Orcon's unlimited 100/50 plan, and much cheaper if you go for their 100/20 plan, but I can understand the want/need for more upstream.

plus the additional cost of getting my own router and whatever they decide to charge me for installation, however even without those additionals....I have no knowledge or experience of them and cannot find anyone who is a customer in my area (from pool of cow-orkers and friends).
