Hi all,

 

 

 

I'm currently on Orcon's old 100/20 UFB unlimited plan, and back in early November requested to change to the newer & cheaper 100/20 unlimited plan.

 

I think it was $95/month back then (just checked, seems to be $100 now?).

 

I've been checking posts about this and I've read that it can take a while due to work by Chorus etc, but it is coming up to 6 months now.

 

Am I being unreasonable, or is it getting a bit too long?

 

I've been bounced around customer service a couple of time already without any results.

 

Anyone else in the same situation or have been waiting even longer?

AFAIK Chorus isn't involved in plan changes (GB and billing is the RSP), they do need to do the speed change, which your not getting.

There is virtually no chorus work involved in changing ufb plans. That part should take a couple of days to change speed, and you aren't even doing that.


However,orcon have decided that, on their end, changing plans also requires moving billing systems and requires a brand new (virtually identical) router to be shipped. So any delay is entirely down to orcons decisions.

So yes, it is taking too long. I would be asking for a credit to be applied to my account for the difference, and backdated to the time I requested the plan change.

Thanks for your replies.

 

Argh, all this time I thought I'd cut them a bit of slack a bit of slack because I mistakenly thought Chorus was part of the process from reading a previous thread.

 

I see now that the Chrous part mentioned in that thread probably refers to the speed change rather than the new plan.

 

Hopefully this gets sorted asap.
