A couple of things to address here:

1. Lack of communication
I agree this is completely unacceptable. If you have logged a ticket and have not had a follow up to it in a reasonable time please feel free to message me with the ticket ID and I will be happy to get the right people on it. This is a concern for me, and I am going to raise it internally.

2. Performance issues
Because of the varied reports that are appearing in this thread it is unlikely that this is a network wide issue. If there is a specific type of application or traffic that you are having problems with please send us an email and let us know.

3. Unbundling the South Island
I have no idea who you were talking to that said that we would unbundle the whole of the South Island by the end of the year. We would love to do that, but unfortunately it is just not possible. We are currently unbundling as fast as we are able to.

HOLD THE PHONE ! STOP THE PRESS ! DUNCAN ! DUNCAN! DUNCAN !
My Orcon Speeds are back to what they were 5 months ago!!!!!!!!!! Finally!!! What happened Duncan? I haven't had a connection like this for 5 months! I'm very happy tonight. At around 4:25 Tuesday afternoon...my internet connection went out for about 3 or 4 minutes. When I did get connected I noticed how fast the web-pages were opening up...just like the good ole Orcon days. I thought crikey steve...I better give this thing a speedtest to Chicago where my gaming Server is located.....LOOK !
LOOK!

I wasn't quite convinced so I plugged in my Joystick and off I went to Chicago and WOW!Cool I remember this feeling! NO LATENCY! I said... NO LATENCY! and my ping was back where it used to be at 204, 205, and peaked no higher than 210. AWESOME ORCON ! I only hope this can continue for ever now!  Duncan can you enlighten me as to what you did to your staff??? Hope they are alright.Sealed Whatever you did I'm back! Thank You.

Wish I could say the same, but my Warhammer online gaming's still crap. They have servers all over the world, play mostly on the Australians servers. The lag will start on the dot about 7.30pm and lasts till 10.30pm. Sigh... Won't even try ventrillo tonight either... Confirmed that it is not a problem with the game servers (tried all of them and same results), definitely a problem with Orcon's network.

I too am having international speed issues,
I mention rapidshare (premium) as a reference below, but also with international gaming is causing issues with pings (Battlefield Heroes Beta)

I also know of people who have logged tickets with no reply or extemely delayed with a standard response that theres no issue because they test the network during offpeak and dont find a fault

End of July (Peak time):



And this is all i can get recently (last few weeks)

If you are disconnecting a lot (i.e. more than 4-5 times a day) it is likely to be a line fault. I would strongly encourage you to call us, or send us an email. (Apologies if you already have and I am pointing out the obvious).

duncan.I already did call(I have more than 9times a day)and they said it was a problem that HOME HUB TEAM gona adressed(since I use homehub) and take my cell number but never called back.
just wondering,is the HOME HUB TEAM really exist?or it just an excuse?:confused:
*and sorry if this is a bit noob,but how do I know my fault ticket?*

Now I checked my Line speed etc. on Monday and got this result.....


After my increased speed on Tuesday I did it again and got this result.....

Now my question is...What has changed? Comparing these results shows me a big reduction in the Noise Margin. I have also noticed it states my Line Mode is ADSL2+ ???? I don't have ADSL2+ I live in Hamilton! What does all this stuff mean? Also the Chorus vans look like they have finished installing the roadside cabinet on my street corner...Could this have had an affect on better speeds and less latency?? Whatever happened yesterday fixed my Orcon problem which has persisted for the last 5 months. I would like to know why I have been through so much un-happiness these past months then all of a sudden its all perfect again!

Strange.  I am playing Warhammer beta and I get incredibly good speeds even during peak, no lag at all.  And my australian based ventrillo is perfect.  Auckland CBD exchange. ADSL2+/LLU.

When people are getting disconnected from games, ventrilo (like myself), our internet connection isn't getting disconnected, so it isn't related to a line fault at all.

Just because your not on Orcon LLU doesnt mean you cant get ADSL2+, Telecom is upgrading most exchanges to ADSL2, yours would be one of them

Doubtful, if there was a cabinet on your street and you were hooked into it, you would be doing alot better than 50db attn and would have a much faster dsl sync

My lines are fine, I just disconnect ALOT(from software,i dont actually get disconnected from the internet.. just my applications..mainly games,msn,ventrilo..) at peak times, basically from 7pm to about 10.30pm, I really really cant do anything internationally.

This is what i get during peak times a.k.a mass lag and disconnections etc.



other than that i usually get about 3mb-2mb when it isnt peak.

Here's a speedtest I just did which should be a good contrast to yours... same server... just minutes apart.

There must be issues with your line because I have nothing special here... just  plain ADSL and 128up/FSdown and I am speedtesting slow at the moment but not THAT slow.





Saying that though... I'm streaming Youtube with no problems so my international speed isn't all that sad.
