Hi All,

I have connected to the Orcon+ network using the SX763 Homehub and can say I'm very happy with the product so far except...

I use an Apple Mobile Me product called "Back to my Mac" that uses either NAT-PMP (which I understand very few routers have - at least the -PMP bit anyway) or UPNP.  I have UPNP enabled and cannot get this BTMM service to function.   I get a message on the BTMM setup saying my router does not have NAT-PMP or UPNP.

My understanding is that this router has NAT but not NAT-PMP and that BTMM in most cases uses UPNP to function which would be the case here.  It seems UPNP is not functioning properly - I found a nice wee app called "Port Map" that also tells me that it cannot  communicate with my router via UPNP.   This application is not related to the Apple BTMM service so I can only conclude the problem is not at Apple's end, rather the router.

I have emailed Orcon's support service but in seven days have received a ticket number but no repsonse.  Hmm.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions, or perhaps are BTMM users and have had similar issues?

You could attempt to do it manually

find what ports that software needs, then do a portforwarding of those ports to your Mac's IP address
which you should set to a static ip.

Yes it's all enabled.

I have tried port forwarding but Apple are a bit secretive about what ports are used by BTMM - there is info out there on iChat and Apple Remote Access but not specifically BTMM. Have tried those ports for the others but no go.

I had a response from Orcon who in a roundabout way stated that Seimens knew of the issues with the home hub and (one day) we might see a firmware fix.

In the meantime, I'd suggest staying clear of the homehub if you want these types of services.
