Sounddude: In that case its unlikly to be a cabinet issue since the cabinet is not due to 2011.

Try a line isolation test (unplug everything and reboot your router).

if not, log a fault with the Orcon helpdesk and tell them your Modem sync speed is slower than it should be with the current attenuation rates.

Its been almost two weeks since I log the fault on the site.. still no feedback from orcon staff/technicians

Anyways on a side note.. Download speed is terrible at night time at the moment since last friday whats up with that?

Having major issues with wow tonight, ping is about the normal 180-240MS.....as soon as im in a raid and anything starts...bang, chain dc/s. When i log back in, ping spikes from 400-900MS.

The only thing that has changed for me, is that the chorus techs have been around my area for the last 2 weeks. I use to have attenuation of about 50db, so my connection was like 2-4MB when i connected to exchange. Seems like i have been moved into a cabinet as my modem is now reporting 11.5 and my connection is like a whopping 21Mb. Was i chuffed to see that ;)

But my connection doesn't seem faster at all :S

The cable is still cut, hence the slow speeds.

Please be patient.

Cheers.

jake1829 , nothing wrong with that at all and remember that is only a speedtest from speedtest.net, an actual multi-threaded download, which are the ones you want to care about will probably perform much better.

Also don't forget kids, residential internet is a shared network best effort system.. at busy times you will have contention for available bandwidth on the backhaul from the cabinet to the exchange, from the exchange to the ISP and from the ISP to the... you get the point.

Fair point, but since I switched to Telecom three weeks ago I haven't had a single night where things have been bad. Orcon was bad every single night for at least two months prior to that.
