Hi, can someone else on Xnet (and someone from somewhere else) confirm they can get to Iserve's website (www.iserve.co.nz or www.iserve.net.nz)?

I can't even resolve their DNS (or my own domain, hosted on Iserve) from two Xnet connections (one ADSL, one NEAL fibre)

Not sure if there's some sort of interconnection issue or if I'm just doing something dumb.

Thanks,

Andrew

iServe looks rather broken for me here - i get NXDOMAIN when trying to lookup their NS servers... Looks like someone may have broken their zone file...

I just called a colleague who is on a Compass connection and he can see the Iserve site ok. Hm?

EDIT:
http://network-tools.com/default.asp?prog=lookup&host=www.iserve.net.nz

An IP of theirs seems to be 202.191.34.25. I can't ping that from here (Xnet/NEAL fibre) or via my home (Xnet ADSL).

Will now call Xnet. I suspect interconnection issues.

Xnet help says they believe Xtra plus other ISPs are also cut off.

Iserve is a DNS registrar and host to I suspect this is going to get quite headachey with lots of domains not resolving as DNS caches start to expire.

(And with Xnet ruled out as the problem, maybe a mod can move this to the Orcon forum as they own Iserve?)

The company I am with does not use XNet, think we use Clear (but not sure). Can't resolve those sites either, so the problem is not specific to XNet. You need to contact iServe.

Network issues with an upstream provider is preventing many customers from getting through to iSERVE hosted sites. We are in contact with the provider who are working to resolve the issue ASAP but have no ETA at this stage. ---update 9:53am ---- Our upstream providers have advised that they have isolated the issue and are currently working to resolve a hardware issue. We will post further updates as information comes to hand

I fix stuff!
