Most of Henderson is on cabinets, so it wasn't viable to unbundle.

You really need to update your coverage map too...

I moved from one part of massey on ADSL2+ to another part that is only ADSL even thou the Orcon map says it should be ADSL2+

Just figured out today that Telecom has upgraded the roadside cabinet to ADSL2+ so this means Orcon serve me just ADSL... which costs more than my old ADSL2+

At the time that annoyed me too! that I move and end up paying more for slower internet...

Shouldn't Orcon either do the sub-loop unbundle or adjust my pricing???

If it werent for the $53 connection fee and the 12 month contract, I might consider moving to Telecom to get the ADSL2+ back again...

Come on Orcon cant you sort something out?

Bee: send me your login name. I didn't think we sold ADSL1 plans in areas ADSL2+ was avaliable. Will confirm for you.

It's not quite that straight forward.

With cabinetisation Telecom now have their DSLAMS located in the cabinet rather than the exchange. The dialtone for your phone is still provided from the exchange at present but this will eventually change as the NEAX switches are taken out of service.

For Orcon (or Vodafone etc) to provide their services in this situation they need to place their equipment in the cabinet rather than the exchange. They then also need to buy backhaul (over fibre) to get their data from the cabinet.

At present the debate over costs and access to cabinets is still ongoing. Sub loop unbundlign is a fundamentally different product to normal unbundled lines from the exchange.

so the plot thickens.
Im with Orcon for phone and ADSL
On a cabinet and exchange that has adsl2+ but orcon only give me adsl

Now can I get moved to telecom wholesale and get ADSL2+???

Would that get me back onto a ORCON+ plan as well?
