Orcon, after having spent 5 years with you I've now moved to a Telstraclear cable area.
But I miss you! I miss your uncapped content and your international speed. I miss your flexibility with data plans and your closeness to customers.
The only reason I'm with Telstraclear is because it's the only true naked data service available.
Couldn't you jump on Telstraclear's cable and provide an alternative service?
Maybe the margin wouldn't be great I guess but if you could bundle an IPTV (Tivo!) service, coupled with mobile, that might make business sense.
Am I dreaming?

There is no need to "unbundle" TCL's cable network.

TCL have provided access to their network to other ISP's for many years now and there are other ISP's that offer cable modem services with their own plans that include differences such as unlimited national traffic.

Xtreme networks do and I'm pretty sure there is a 2nd provider still doing this. Globe.net were until they got purchased by Actrix.

and xtreme "only" charge $265 for 20Gb. I only pay $149 for 80GB with TCL.

When you live your life on Twitter and Facebook, and are only friends with like minded people on Twitter and Facebook, you are not living in the real world. You are living in a narcissistic echo chamber.

It's a different products aimed at different customers though so it's hard to compare directly. They have peering at WIX and unlimited national traffic which is a significantly different product offering to what TCL offer themselves.

Mmm, it seems like Kordia and Telstraclear are not good friends at all:
