Can someone fukk me sideways here and call me Betty? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE TEAM LEADER DYLAN CSR AND MY DOZEN PHONE CALLS UP UNTIL FRIDAY LAST WEEK, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAVE A BIG DISCONNECT ISSUE, ITS NOT MY HARDWARE, MY LINE SPEEDS ARE BAD AND THEY ARE GOING TO PUT IN TICKET FOR BOTH DISCONNECTS AND LINE SPEED WITH A CHORUS TECHNICIAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE, DUE TO THE LONG WEEKEND IT MAYBE NOT RESOLVED DURING THE WEEKEND, HOWEVER WE DO HAVE PEOPLE WORKING REGARDLESS OF THE LONG WEEKEND" HE THEN HAS JUST TOLD ME NOW THAT THE TICKET; DAVID THE CSR IS NOT LOGGED WITH CHROUS, BUT WITH THERE TIER 2 ENGINEERS INSTEAD; THEREFORE DYLAN WAS LIEING TO ME ALONG WITH THE CSRS ON THURSDAY/FRIDAY WHO TOLD ME IT WAS TICKETED WITH CHROUS TO BE CHECKING MY CONSTANT DISCONNECTS AND BAD SPEEDS.

Satire, for someone to come on here with 2 posts (as of this post) blatently disregarding the issue and attacking a poster to me indicates you are either an Orcon staff member, or an Orcon 'fanboy'.

Don't troll. Assist.

I have had 4-5 years of experience with Orcon.  Approximately 2 years ago their service degraded, and has been more and more since.  It's fine for a while then it's absolute crap.  Full stop.  And every time it gets crap, it gets crap WORSE than the previous crap (nice sentence compilation thar eh).

These problems people are experiencing are why I transferred to Telecom on a Pro plan.  And all of the crap Orcon help desk responses and "support" (if that's what they call it) were purely time wasters from my experience and in all honesty NEVER got resolved.  The problem was always at my end.  Yet when I changed to Telecom on ADSL2+ (yes I was supposedly on Orcon's same offering), I felt like I was in ADSL2+ dreamland, and I still am two months later.  Everything works as one would expect from gaming to video streaming.

In summary, Orcon is plainly bad.  And their bad at providing a service with attached support.  The masses may not notice it, but the general geekdom of people here do.

And if an Orcon customer is lucky enough to get a good service? Well in my opinion, it's a bomb waiting to explode for them too.  Just wait.

^ Frustrated, not mad, basically to talk to Orcon you need to be a Parrot. Hence the I/B/U protocol.

According to the Tier1 Team Leader and the 4 CSR's I spoke to on Thursday and Friday; I have it wrong, its not logged with Chorus, my ears were playing tricks, I am like Dumbo with them folding over whatever sound frequency entry points I may have on my head and basically that any information I have been told is either A) Unaccountable for, B) Incorrect or C) "I think you have misunderstood what was said".

Seriously, do they think that every customer is some idiotic Stoner or some muppet who plays the Banjo on Queen Street preaching Jesus Christ will save us all on a fort-daily basis.

Now after speaking to the Team Leader for 30 minutes and him saying opposite of what was said, myself being "A confused" individual about what was said by not only him and the CSR's, it is with the Tier 2 support desk, who according to the CSR David earlier; having 50+ Disconnects over 5 weeks and 13 in the weekend, is not a concern. Also that "5 disconnects a day, is normal".

Where do these guys get their networking experience from? Are these the left of sh1t CSR that Telecom let behind when they shipped off shore to Manila?


Shocking service/10.

Wait, I'M the person on the attack ? I seem to recall that after asking how someone could make a statement like 'I've had ADSL2 for over 32 years' which is so obviously incorrect, the poster then attacked me with insults along the lines of 'you need a brain'

Also, 2 posts means I'm not qualified to have an opinion ? pretty much all I see in these forums are uneducated people that THINK they understand the technology and seem to have some form of chip on their shoulder over an issue they have little to no understanding of.

Then, to top it all off they start throwing their nerd rage about the place and talk big, thinking people/shows like Campbell live would be interested in the 0.05% of orcons customer base that seem to be experiencing an internet slowdown, not even an outage, but a slowdown.. at peak times.. while torrenting..

No, I'm not an Orcon fanboy and I'd never work for Orcon, but seriously, some of the people that post on here make Orcon look saintly. Just the 'u mad' quoted post has sent half the office here into fits, the guy can't seem to string a sentence together and this somehow becomes my fault ?

really, if someone is having problems with their ISP and they are not getting resolved the correct answer is to WALK AWAY, go and get a better ISP, go and do some research and then switch. Ranting on some hick forum populated largely with clueless computer nerd wannabes is hardly conducive to actually getting the problem fixed, and if you DO decide to post, expect that claiming you've had ADSL2 for 32 years WILL get you laughed at..


Also, please point out just where in my post I was incorrect Mr 65 post guy.

a) his English/Communication sucks.
b) He needs to learn to fault find better
c) Orcon never said he would be charged for a callout IF he was correct in his fault analysis.
d) The Orcon guy was correct about the number of disconnects
e) Cambell Live guys would laugh at him

It's easy to tell people to "walk away and find a better ISP"? and also come back and get all defensive on your initial waste-of-time post? You've contradicted yourself so much in so little time.

I've had 7 it didn't make a difference

2x Dynalink rta1320 orcon provided(both died from heat)
1x Dlink 502t
1x Seamans (also used to be handed out by Orcon)
1x Huawei MT880 (ex Vodofone brand new never used)
1x Netcomm NB5plus4 (brand new)
1x Netgear DG843 v3 ( Brand new )

all with their respective latest Firmware installed

Also, as for 'walking away' are you implying that the best course of action is staying with an ISP that gives you crap service and ignores all attempts to contact them and get it resolved or gives you misleading information ? and you DID realise we were talking about 'if someone is having problems with their ISP and they are not getting resolved' right ? not posting on forums and then quitting after someone throws some insult at you ?

As for your little edit Mr 66 post guy - I don't have to earn your respect, nor do I particularly want to.

I am new but trolling? So www.gpforums.co.nz material.

I have spoken to Tier 2 who are now getting a Chorus Tech out early tomorrow morning to help me with the matter, interesting to see what occurs.

The Tier 2 guy said that he is getting bad international speeds, he admitted that before and I asked him for their  calculation of disconnects I have had over the last 5 weeks, the total amount was Seventy Three aka 73 in total.

I do find it to be correct to some extent it is not 100% correct, over the weekend Sat/Sun/Mon I had about 13 fairly sure, they recorded 4. So maybe they only end up getting 1/3rd of the actual disconnects.

I also had another at 3.26pm, rang up and logged it in.

See how the progress goes. You have to really tell them to do their job for anything to get done... seriously poor service on a whole.

Hang on your flag under your avatar is the USA. Are you even in NZ or stayed here long time and what is your current location.

I'd suggest to STFU and stop even trying to justify your actions, let the bigger man be and address issues here for the sorting. Go to facebook and complain about how its hard to lose weight on a 3 x Big Mac a day meal plan, instead of c0cking up the thread here with genuine issues.

P.S If you are not careful you can get ban from a Mod/Admin I have been told.

I'm still wondering WHERE I was impolite. From the way I read it you threw the first insult, or did you not like me asking how you'd managed to have ADSL2 for 32 years and hence viewed my asking as an insult ?

Also, as for me being in the USA, all I have to say is that the internet can be a very strange and mysterious place to the uneducated, filled with many twisty passages (or 'tubes') that all look the same.

(also, I won't even take you telling me to 'STFU' as an insult, even tho many possibly would. It really doesn't surprise me much that you've already been told about the potential for bans however.)
