2*51=$102 for 100GB datablock on Slingshot (+ data banking)... just saying :)

Though will be interesting to see what their new plans will be like, maybe they will offer some decent priced data caps/blocks for all those not on Orcons gear...

Whenever you look at how cheap something is, you need to take into account how poor the quality is!

It's the 1st of October, any news on the new plans from Orcon?

I'm pretty sure the new plans are now on their site. I'm on bronze, which now comes with 5GB instead of 2GB.

if thats the case, then they've done nothing for Naked customers.

This better not be it, because I will be royally pi*sed.

I would expect more than that, and something more noticeable.

I still have problems sorting out what plan I'm on. It says when I log in Home Bronze. 2Gb + 25GB. Will that now be 5Gb + 25GB as from Oct 23rd??

I'm on Silver+ with a data addon. I'll be able to get rid of that addon now (Silver+ went from 5GB to 15GB), so that'll save a few dollars a week. Better than a kick in the pants.

If you read the media release on their site, it says that you will b recommended the most appropriate plan, if you wish to change to it, go ahead, and if you don;t, you will stay on your current one and pay the higher GST when your bill comes on.

So to me, it sounds like a whole new different set of plans. Not just additions to the current ones.

I think that's just because of all the people on legacy plans. I don't have the email in front of me but didn't they mention that was the reason for increasing with GST, they had so many plans and options that it was the fairest thing to do?

Anyway, naked got an increase to the data cap just recently didn't it? I felt a bit aggrieved then so maybe they decided they'd already given them the extra value they deserved?

However, we are also taking this opportunity to launch a completely new range of Orcon@Home Broadband and Phone plans. These plans will offer better value than any of our plans ever have. We will be announcing these plans early in October, and sending all of our existing customers an email with the details and a recommendation of a plan that we think will suit you best.

You have the choice of staying on your current plan, with your total cost adjusted for the GST increase, or changing to one of our great new plans. Either way you will see these changes on your next invoice on the 23rd of October.

I wish they had a slider for the data cap, its slightly ridiculous on the bronze plan having 55gb as an option and then the next option being 105gb, 55gb isn't quite enough and 105 is quite excessive, wheres my option for 80gb?? 80gb is an option for the platinum plan. Is there any reason for this? it seems rather unfriendly.

It does say "launch a completely new range" which now I read the actual release does sound a bit more revolutionary.  These plans are just the same old thing, slightly tweaked.  I guess we'll find out when they release the new plans, or they don't and it's all spin.  Plus it says they are launcing in "early" October, not on the first.  So probably something even better is coming along.  Anyway, I'm happy for the time being now.

Wiring and maintenance insurance is no longer free - costs $3 now. And it looks like Gold only has free local calling now? (have asked @Orcon for confirmation)

And the only difference between Bronze and Silver now are the GB usage limits - you can add smartphone features to any plan for $10. No free single-port modem rental with Bronze, though.
