Odd that the Orcon Genius system sends out voicemail in a nasty wav format.

Found this great service that you can forward emails to which will transcode to a format of your choice and email back.

Just setup a forwarding filter in your email and away you go.

It's free with a bit of nag text at the top of each email and for $10 you can get rid of those. Worth registering for free and adjusting some of the settings on the site. You can choose format (mp3 works on both iPhone and triggers the inline player in Gmail) and subject/body text settings.

Ugly site but a handy service till Orcon improve the voicemail format.

It's not so much Orcon's format, merely that .WAV and .wav are not the same thing. There are a lot of apps that are unable to play both formats or get confused by the extensions.
