Recently came off our Orcon home phone and broadband plan to the Genius service.

We are now on day 4 of people not being able to dial in to the home number. We can dial out but no one can dial in.

4 days of 30 minute hold times with 3 songs on rotate.

For a number that was with Orcon in the first place.
According to Orcon the port still has to go through Telecom for porting to the Genius service.

Is this correct?
What is the usual time for a number port?

Sunday round 2 to the support desk after first 20minute hold got cut off.

Sigh.

PS The steel drum version of 'I Want You Back' is not helping.

My experience is it takes around 4-5 business days to port a number from Telecom NEAX (note that even though Orcon was "providing" you with the number before it was just wholesaled through Telecom's network where as Genius is purely Orcon's network").

Thanks for the reassurance. Port came through today. Line is nice and clear other than an echo our end.
Next stop, UFB.
