Hey, Soccer is the most popular spectator sport in the world!
This channel would be a major problem for Sky TV, which makes me wonder whether this is just FFA and OFA trying to get more money out of Sky (although I'm prepared to believe that FIFA don't like Murdoch and Sky, and they might support the move).

I would be in heaven if we had an FTA channel with soccer and cricket. You wouldn't see me on Geekzone!

makes me wonder whether this is just FFA

I doubt the FFA would be a part of this, they already make money by selling their broadcast rights to NewsCorp / Sky,
where I doubt there is much of a payment to OFA for games like Vanuatu v New Zealand, and coverage of the NZFC.
(plus stuff like the NZ Futsal Champs)

The way they are talking I think it is probably going to be in crappy SD. You would need more than 2 people to give a quality HD picture.

After watching SS3 which went back to SD last night. I have no desire for a non HD sports channel.
