Hi everyone
Stumbled on this forum while searching to see what solutions my fix my Zinwell.

Am very glad to see I am not the only one with problems. Mine range from slow EPG, slow response to any key on remote being pressed.

I'll check back and see if any fix is available last - meanwhile off to unplug the aerial and see if that helps.

Cheers
Squeaky

I have the same issue.  Zinwell's person (his email address is available on the Freeview site under approved products) have advised as follows:

'Yes we are aware of these issues which have arisen since the MediaWorks changes in late September and the Zinwell design team are looking to see if there is a way to resolve these problems.

Keep an eye on my Dropbox folder where I will post any progress reports and software updates when available.

Kind regards

Graham'

I'm experiencing the exact same problems with the Zinwell PVR, with the timing coinciding with the Mediaworks changes. It's driving me bonkers, so fingers crossed for a quick solution!

According to the update here (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/99ijdy2d5vkvke5/LjsBjkHYYL) it's going to be a few weeks before things are working properly! How annoying!

Just to provide closure to this thread, my Zinwell PVR is now responding as it should - since changes made to the signal on the 16/11/2012 as mentioned here:

Thanks all for the responses/suggestions!

I've noticed this happening again on my unit (1.2.4 firmware), specifically on trying to return to play from fast forward, not every time but enough.

I can actually tell when mine is going to do it. If the little "2x", "4x", etc takes ages to come up on the display, then it will do it. If the "2x" comes up quickly then it will return from play properly.

It's also started happening again for JCMatthews units as well over in http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=83&topicid=110373&page_no=5

Not good news.

The ZMT-640PVR was designed in late 2007 to the Freeview specifications and anticipated requirements at that time. As more channels are added to the Freeview platform, performance will gradually deteriorate again and Zinwell has advised that it is no longer possible to correct this with changes to the software. The last software version to be released for this model is v1.2.4 which takes includes the changes made by Freeview in late 2011.

Well, that sucks! Better start looking for a new PVR? Otherwise, what other options do we have?
