Channel 600 on Freeview HD when connected to the internet has WorldNet TV channels of YTN, MBC, Arirang, NHK and some HD videos via the interactive services by the remote.

Not too sure on the expected launch but may be part of Freeview's new Freeview+ service

I haven't heard of Freeview+ before and the web site seems to be short on detail except for some basic information about what equipment is required. I'm guessing they might be having a soft launch with a view to promoting the service in the near future?

I have a 2012 model LG which has an ethernet port at the back so hopefully it will be compatible with a firmware update, and hopefully Mediaworks will get on board with content delivered in decent resolution.

That's a whole lot of hope right there...

It gives an appliance not supported error.

I guess it turns out that many of our Freeview approved devices that promised "free tv forever" are not going to support the other half of the intended Freeview broadcast platform.

Updates would possibly (and amusingly) reinstate network connectivity that was previously disabled to meet freeview specifications!

My Samsung TV which is up to date managed to do fine however I do have a Panasonic XW380 MyFreeview Unit which the website says is capable  of Freeview + but has not been able to pass the Interactive Services with a error. It has not been updated for years which is probably the same for the other models and units with outdated software,

Below is a screenshot

Nothing showing up in EyeTV (Te Aroha transmitter), and my Sony TV is currently out of action.

Is it "real" NHK (Japanese), or NHK World (English)?

No, the Freeview specs have never changed apart from the TV size requirements to support MHEG5-IC.

Fair enough, just a lot of models released in NZ spec had the present Ethernet port disabled, which I originally was led to believe was to ensure the recordings couldn't be copied off...

Getting the "This appliance is not capable of viewing Freeview interactive channels" message on DishTV T1020.

Hopefully a future firmware update will get things sorted.

Never heard of WORLDNET TV and this is the first I've heard of Freeview+

No sign of it in Nelson on High end Samsung Es8000 expect its not being broadcast here. Even though Channel 600 pops up with channel tag Mheg IC if selected
