Thank you, I had a read through. yes I have FFW and Rew issues too, drives me nuts! The play button on the remote has issues too, but maybe it's the box and not the remote. Have found when FFW or rew, have to press pause and then play as just pressing play most of the time, doesn't work.

The play button problems may be the the fault of the remote. There was some kind of problem with the original model that came with the 3600 which caused the pads under the buttons to become coated with oil. It's possible to clean the oil off so it'll work well again but the remote will eventually need to be replaced. This was discussed in the main 3600 thread

If you still have the receipt it may be possible to get the remote replaced with a new model under the consumer guarantees act but you know what retailers think of it. Disassembling the remote to clean off the oil may invalidate warranty coverage.
