From StopPress:

MediaWorks announced yesterday that it would be extending its radio brand The Edge onto television by launching a new TV channel on the Freeview and Sky platforms later this year.

Described by The Edge programme director Leon Wratt as “radio with pictures on steroids,” the Edge TV will feature Jay-Jay Feeney, Mike Puru, Dom Harvey, Guy Williams, Sharyn Casey, Clint Roberts and others on a daily basis.

And in staying with the increasing digitisation of the media industry, the channel will also be streamed online in mobile, tablet and PC formats.

I'll be sure to delete that channel then.

I hope not. C4 plays a good mix of music and it'd be a shame to see it replaced with a channel that only plays Top 40 music.

That's what I was thinking. I think there is a place for an adult contempory music channel on Freeview, similar to channel 63 on Sky, so I wonder if that might also be on the agenda.

I thought people worked on radio because they weren't cut-out for TV. hence the saying "a great face for radio".

I cant think of anything worse then watching Jay-Jay Feeney and Dom Harvey. Thank god for Netflix and Hulu.

When you live your life on Twitter and Facebook, and are only friends with like minded people on Twitter and Facebook, you are not living in the real world. You are living in a narcissistic echo chamber.

Good lord.

The Edge has to be a shining example of the utterly vapid soullessness of Top 40 radio.

Complete with idiot attempts by 30-40 something hosts to identify with tween - twenty year olds by using cool things like hashtags and memes (LOL! FACEBOOK AND TWITTER!) along with cutting edge news items like "Who is pregnant this week?" and "This famous person is fat now!".

Now they are getting a TV channel.

Good to see society circling the drain.
