For some reason my PVR often records programs from the plus one channels eg One plus one instead of the main channel i select (HD). This doesnt happen every time..but often enough to annoy.

Anyone got a cure/explanation for this?

Might it do this intelligenty to avoid a scheduling conflict with somethign being recorded at the earlier time?

That's probably the biggest flaw with my Panasonic PVR. If I make two recordings back to back it uses a tuner for each one rather than switching from one recording to another on the same tuner. My old PVR used to do this, but had another problem where the switch is made at the wrong time (i.e. the last minute of a show is at the beginning of the next show). The Panasonic avoids that, but I don't see why it can't use a single tuner but direct the output to two recordings during the overlap.

I think it's possible to edit the auto recording times but I don't have this problem often enough to need to do that often.

Remember though you can only record two streams from the same mux at the same time i.e. TV1 and TV2 not TV2 and TV3 as they are on two different mux's and need to use the two separate tuners...

Interesting, especially as I'm about to buy one of these
To be fair, MySky does exactly the same thing although it has three tuners I think
I had the very first model of Panasonic HDD PVR and this used to mess up by putting the programme break at the wrong place for two consdecutive recordings - it must be difficult to do this given the networks seem to deliberately fudge the timing sometimes

Only time mine has done this is when I set it to record from the EPG after the program has started. It doesn't start immediately but records it on the plus 1 channel. Bit of a nuisance as the plus 1 channels are only stereo.

You can also manually set it to record channel, start time and end time rather than booking the programme recording from the EPG. It's a bit fiddlier, but does then mean the machine will do exactly what you tell it viz., specification of channel and record times.
