Apologies if my question has already been discussed 10,000 times but l have been browsing the forum and don’t see what I am looking for.

What I am looking for is advice on replacing for my increasingly erratic cheapie UHF receiver. Wish list: Single-tuner is ok, PVR recording functionality via USB, NTFS and able to read FAT32 for backwards compatibility, not limited in any way by Freeview recording restrictions, working 8-day EPG, 1080p, HDMI + coax digital audio, good overall quality (unlike the piece of junk I currently own). Not too worried about cost. I have been having trouble finding specifications, especially drive format and I wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.

I don't think what you want exists. Time for a HTPC.

As bfginger said, you have just described a HTPC. That's the best way to get the functionality you are after.

Thanks for the responses. For reasons of space, layout, existing equipment, set-up and some other things, I decided some time ago not to go the HTPC route in the lounge, which is where this would be situated. Also, because of our location, streaming is not really practical for us (RBI = 100Kb/s or less plus data cap) so that removes another reason. I still think a STB would better suit our needs, if one with the right specs could be found.
