nzgrover: I have a T1020 that appears to have died over the weekend. I believe one of my kids turned it off while trying to play a DVD (pressing random buttons on all devices under the telly...), and when I turned it back on all that happens is the power light flashes red. I tried leaving it unplugged over night, but when I plugged it back in in the morning it did the same thing. Anything else I can try?

Looks like there is something wrong with the unit, likely the power supply in the unit /  a capacitor has failed, Please give us a call on 07 929 4123 or 0800 DISHTV to contact us regarding getting the unit sent back for us to have a look at it.

Just an update, I took the device into DishTV's offices here in Hamilton and they fixed it within 20 minutes. No Charge. Happy customer. Apparently it was a dead cap in the power supply. I did wonder why it had died (cheap caps or bad batch?) and if they replaced all the caps or just the bad one but decided against interrogating the tech.
Also, just in case anyone else is trying to find them, they have no signage outside their building!

Hi,

I have a S8200 and have noticed a couple of issues with the latest firmware. Firstly recordings in the library often appear repeated 2 or three times, exiting out of the library and then going back in again usually clears this up. Have attached an example, first pic shows two shows listed twice and second pic shows the same shows listed once after I have exited the library and gone back in again. This occurs all the time, the other night I recorded a show and it was listed 6 times in the library.Secondly every now and then when I exit the library I cannot change channels using the channel up and down toggle, I have to go into the library and out again several times before this will work.

Thanks for this, I have sent a log through to the team

Yes it appears so . But for a short time it said we were unable to record the intended program . It rebooted with no warning and then worked ok .. so far. I really want that "remember the last sort option " early Christmas present from the Tron? ! I reckon all the staff on this should have to use the t2200 for 3 months and exp this, I bet it would be sorted real fast .. hehe .

We are doing out best! We are working on necessary pain issues out then adding in the features, I can't say what release will have what fixes / additions as the software team usually pushes the update as is. It's a very busy time of the year but I promise it won't take too long! :)

Are you guys developing the software yourself, here in NZ, or are you waiting for suppliers to make the changes for you?

Not intending to sound rude, but the software side of things has always steered me to larger name brands, where the UI's are very polished.
It doesn't matter how great your hardware is, it's the software and UI that the user see's and interacts with, and these frustrating bugs become significant...

We half between NZ and our external team, we test and replicate and feed through exact changes which the overseas team fixes and returns back.

Hi Customers

I have set up a private forum to get feedback on a few content I work at Dish TV like PDF Manuals, iManual Devalopment, Videos and other end user items.
This forum is only for feedback on these few items, nothing will change on the current public threads here, topics will be very different and only specific to certain things.
It saves on cluttering the public Freeview DVBT/S thread.

If you would like access please +1 this post and I will add your username to the forum system. If you are tech savy, have a few products of Dish TV or one of the 2015 + generation boxes, love discussions not rants (haha) and would love to add 2 cents to how things look then this is for you.

Cheers!

Josh

Two things are really annoying me at the moment and I was wondering when we might see a fix?

- Persistent sort in library screen
- Slower response to remote to avoid toggling of play/pause etc.

I have also noticed the odd occasion where the wrong recording is highlighted when stopping a watched program. This can lead to deleting the wrong item.
(I think I have seen this mentioned previously)

One other thing , though it is maybe very subjective, the 1.5 fast forward seems of doubtful use and I find the gabbling audio annoying.

Keep up the good work.
