I too despertly need to replace my MagicTV 3600 with a Freeview+ PVR with dual tuners, in-built harddrive and ideally wifi.

The MagicTV 3600 has been dying a very slow death. Replacing the hard drive bought it some time ... but its dying again. I think the thermal management in the 3600 is total crap. Firmware upgrades do not help.

Arielbox, if you sell a dual tuner with the specs so much of us want, I will buy it as soon as it goes on sale!!!!

Bought one today at JB HIFI (Wellington)  for $128 which is a pretty good price I think. Looking forward to trying it tonight.

Look forward to hearing what you think about it. It seems like a lot of kit at a very good price.

Very preliminary thoughts: Installation was straight forward, was prompted to update firmware with usual dire warnings about not powering off, etc during the process, Wifi set-up was straightforward, took a wee while to figure out remote control buttons but not an big issue. Once up and running, the remote uses coloured buttons  quite a bit.  Big plus are the "On Demand" apps for TV1, etc.  Just like on web, you need to register to access TV1 on-demand and there is the most annoying prompter to register. May be the same as on the web, don't know. Tv3 on demand worked well, although at least one program, "Live At The Apollo" came up with error saying something like "Program not found". Probably the app.   Haven't tried recording yet.  Package doesn't come with an HDMI cable, but does have AV cables. Will need to negotiate "family acceptance factor" as it is change to existing setup and household is pretty change-resistant. Go figure.  Will need to do more work to fully explore capabilities. EPG was up-to-date as expected. As I said earlier, access to on-demand features is the value-add to existing setup.

Use the learning function and it should be able to pick up the remote's codes.

Hi

Yes this is the same advertised on Noel Leeming and this thread, You can use your UHF Aerial to receive Freeview, this STB does not work with a Satellite Dish, and It can be used with your Hard Drive just fine.
If you are looking at recording a lot you may be interested in our new PVR T2200 launching next month you can find info here
