Declan224:

There are two issues that are still really bothering me with the interface. Could I take a moment to just raise these and request a patch?

Changing the channel by pressing number keys is really slow, the system waits for the user to enter four digits, or to bypass it you have to press for buttons (usually 000#).  Can we have this changed to a two digit method with shorter waiting period?  We don't have more than 100 channels and I don't think will for quite some time.

Can we have the BACK button take the system back to the most recently visited channel?  I think it does this sometimes, but only a few seconds after having changed the channel.  At all other times it brings up the mini-EPG, and there are already two other buttons that do this: the red button and the OK button.

Thank you.  I am typically very happy with how this model functions and performs.

For issue 1, there is a channel 600 for testing and also non freeview channels will be store from 1000 up, so waiting for 4 digits is necessary. If the user wants to speed the change up they need to press the ok button straight after the channel numbers.

For issue 2, The back button is reserved by the freeview plus application when it is loaded in the background, we can't change this. It works for a moment after the channel change because at that point the freeview plus app is reloading and hasn't reserved the button at that stage.

Hi,

I see there is a few posts in this discussion on Netflix but it was over a year ago.

So,

Is there any option to download Netflix to the S8200?

Hi all I'm hoping someone can help me & that I am posting this in the correct place.
As of last night I can not get past channel 8. Any ideas why this would be?
Thanks.

Try a Factory Default and rescan as this might help with solving the channel issues.

Hi Josh

Hopefully you might be able to help me.

I have a LG UH850T TV  and have moved to Warkworth where I have to use a Dish TV Sat box (which works well by the way)

The one thing I would like to get around is using two remotes.

The LG TV Remote has a magic remote feature allowing it to be a universal remote and has a selection of topbox vendors you can choose from.

These are mostly overseas vendors and there is no option for Dish TV. Is there another manufacturer name for your setup boxes or a vendor that may have similar remote options that I could try?

Thanks

Ben

Hi Josh

I have uploaded (maybe) a snap of the s8200 when you are recording and watching delayed. If you want to stop watching and press stop you get this screen. I am tech savvy and am struggling to figure what you are wanting me to do with this prompt let alone the missus or my mum. All I want to do is have the playback stop and revert to live the same way as the sky box does.

Does this make sense

Thanks

Errol

I've just bought a new S8200, and I'm trying to get my head around it.

When I'm viewing live TV and press "OK" on the Learning Remote, it seems to sometimes open the Quick Select menu running down the left-hand side of the screen, but other times it's opening the Freeview TV guide that runs along the bottom third of the screen. I can't figure out how it chooses which one to show, and I would like it to stay consistent, preferably always opening the Quick Select menu (which I prefer). Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing, or do I need to do use the remote in a particular way to make it act consistently?

....and another problem.

I can't record from the Freeview Plus EPG. I select the program I want, and I can move around the screen to highlight the RECORD button, but I then hit OK and nothing happens. I can select the SET REMINDER button next to it, and that works.

If I switch to the old Freeview EPG that records correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

You can't record the epg. They've already been. They're there because you've missed them mate. The ok button, I usually find it's because you haven't allowed it enough time to load - you'll get the side one. When the programming for all channels etc is loaded in - you'll then get the bottom one
