I have had another quick play with the manual record button and I seem to be seeing a slightly different issue now. I pressed record around 10 minutes before a program was due to finish. The record timer helpfully suggested a record duration that would take me to the end of the current broadcast program so I accepted that.

As you can see in the picture below, once it had completed though I found that there was an entry in the Library for the program I was trying to record but when I went in to that folder it had picked up the program name from the next program.

Hmmm.. Interesting indeed, this could be how the EIT data is handled and the recorder retrieves the next programme ID.

Could you tell me what the actual programme that should have that name there, I will obtain the TVNZ EPG database and get the programme ID and then get back to you for more info.

I hit record during Story on TV3 which you can see in the top left of the picture is what it called the folder in the library. My post program buffer is still set to the default of 5 minutes so I assume that is why it finished at around 19:35 which would have been 5 minutes in to House Rules. It seems to have then used that program as the name for that particular recording but I would have expected it to choose Story.

Hi, assuming you mean the setting for how long before the scheduled program a recording will start then it is set to what I assume is the default of 1 minute.

The manual record function seems to detect how long the current program has left to run and offers that as the default recording time so if it thought I was trying to record the next program I would have expected it to have offered to record for around 40 minutes not around 10 so I think it knew which program I was intending to record, it just picked up the wrong name to save it as.

yes i understand, unless the two items run off separate programs then you would get the left hand and the right hand not talking so to speak

@joshhill96 we must be due another update soon, as the last one was dated mid jan about 5 weeks ago.

i really hope some of the issue like the double button press get fixed soon, along with the super annoying time shift pause when you go into any of the media menus and watch something it takes you back the the beginning of the time shift, this also happens when you load the library.

couple of other thing that would be nice, if you pause it while time shifted it would be nice if the screen said so, instead of just saying SHIF and from the built in EPG it would be nice to see the day of the week (eg TUE) next to the date in the center of the screen. Says today, then when you skip 24 hours it says 21FEB2016, SUN 21FEB2016 would make it easier to find things

I'll ask the software guys about it, I am not in a DVB-T area at the moment and forgot to bring up a T2200 from Auckland so not sure about updates coming through, I'll clear this up on Monday to I can update you on what's new.

Another couple of bugs to report....

First one was I was simply deleting a folder in the library that contained 3 episodes and the box crashed and rebooted.

Second one was while doing a tidyup of the library I tried to delete a program but was told that it was part of a group that was being recorded so I coudn't delete it. When I had a closer look I realised that it is another variation of the box recording the current and another program and creating an entry for both with the same start time. The box was recording because it is now setup to do Timeshift so was recording the film that was currently on TV but it has also picked up News Hub late which as far as I can see wasn't even on the schedule! When I changed to a different channel it started Timeshifting that instead and appears to have orphaned News Hub Late because the recording time is now 01 Jan 1970!

Hi Josh

Have had our T2200 since December, have some feedback. Apologies if it has been covered previous. I have read through the 30 odd pages to get up to date with what's been discussed.

The EPG button on both the factory remote and our harmony ultimate is really hit and miss as to whether it works, it is at best very laggy and probably more than half the time, it just doesn't do anything. I can see the T2200 receiving the IR as the LED on the box flashes so assume it's a firmware issue?

Time shift (In auto mode) - seems really flakey, an number of times have paused and then tried to rewind a minute or two and whole unit locks up, have to pull power to fix. Also, can we have an option to turn off the message telling us it is time shifting. It stays there for approx 5 seconds and you can't do anything while it displays. I know it's time shifting, don't need to be told every time I change channel.

As has been reported, FF and RW often locks screen so you can't see where you are in the program.

Ability to turn confirmation for deleting recorded programs off. Very slow to delete 5 or 6 programs out of a series.

Your EPG looks way better than the Freeview and FV+ one but you can't use it to select a program to watch.

Not wanting to sound too negative, I have great hopes for the box, we have ditched Sky for this. But it just seems quite clunky and laggy so far, almost like the hardware isn't grunty enough. The Sky UI update was the final nail in the coffin for us but the T2200 is almost as slow.

Am hopeful that next few FW updates will bring some improvements.

Thanks.

Hendo: Hi Josh

Thanks for that! Most people just post without looking at the backlogs.

This issue has been reported multiple times, the EPG is provided by Freeview which is retrieved from the satellite under the MHEG standard this is very slow and at times never pops up. We can only work around the software to help this speed up. We are unable to reroute the EPG to our own one.

I'll pass this through for feedback, the locking up has been an issue we are trying to fix.

Noted.

Ability to turn confirmation for deleting recorded programs off. Very slow to delete 5 or 6 programs out of a series.

A few people have wanted this to remain on, are you trying to delete one by one? You can multi select and delete them in one go.

Your EPG looks way better than the Freeview and FV+ one but you can't use it to select a program to watch.

Thanks for that, we are aiming to improve this with the fresh update of channel images as well as other features, the guide is the main one our Australian customers use in Australia as the MHEG guide provided by Freeview AU was removed.

I understand from your perspective, many SKY customers are leaving due to their new update and lag. We aim to get everything fixed as its now at a time where ex SKY customers look for Freeview products to compliment say a Netflix or Lightbox subscription, Will let everyone know on this thread when a new release is ready to download as well as a updated changelog.

Am hopeful that next few FW updates will bring some improvements.

Thanks.

They will, I will make sure these comments are passed through as we are now working with our customers here on Geekzone to give us everything such as issues, good feedback, recommendations and it's help our research and development look into new things, We certainly won't be giving our customers a generic message with a link to reset the box. Thanks for sticking by us, If you encounter any other things please let us know on here :-)

Have a great day!
Josh

I have just realised that I linked to the wrong image in my previous post. This is the image that shows the orphaned recording (01 Jan 1970):

Thanks heaps Josh for the reply. It does make a huge difference having someone who listens and responds. And some info on why things are the way they are is also useful.

Keep up the good work, am definitely in it for the long haul!

Paul
